This show begins with a long Clay Pigeon improv, doing the overdubbed voices of Host, Royal Flout and his guest, the Mayor of Michael, Texas, Rex Seevers. This is a follow-up to an earlier Flout/Seevers show that, judging from your e-mails, you seemed to enjoy.
Unfortunately, at about the :40 minute mark, station manager Ken came into the studio and informed me of the SHOCKING news that Michael Jackson had died! I was, like many of us, completely shocked and taken aback, not to mention being on the air in the midst of a one-hour pre-recorded program. Ironically, the show centered around the town of Michael, Texas and was humorous in nature. After wrestling a bit in my mind with whether or not to interrupt the broadcast, I decided it was the right thing to do and so I broke in with the death announcement and filled the rest of the show with observations, speculations and some Michael and J5 music. Thanks to Terez for co-hosting through the difficult last 20-minutes.
In case you're interested, the following week 7-2-09, I did a complete Michael Jackson tribute show and I invite you listen and remember the King of Pop.
Thank you for tuning in and for your continued support of this program. I'd love to hear from you sometime. Drop me an e-mail and let me know who you are, what city you are in and what's on that impressive mind of yours.
Until next time, take care and ... always remember.
