Mon. 4/6/09 9:08am annie:

good morning benjamen!!!

Mon. 4/6/09 9:09am annie:

i found a great website that has amazing comics. Arthur magazine, you must know it.

Mon. 4/6/09 9:12am Bob:

Ahhh! Nothing better than starting a dreary morning with a little wireless coling newman...

Mon. 4/6/09 9:12am bw:

hey Annie - I do.. my fren Tom (who did a great comics press called highwater books) helped them start it

hi everyone!! its cold and rainy out.. my fingers are still shaking..

Mon. 4/6/09 9:14am still b/p:

The team name at that college must be the Cougars.

My fingers will be wet and cold when I ride home later today in the coming rain wallop.

Mon. 4/6/09 9:17am karao:

brrr. good thing i work from home. morning, bw!

Mon. 4/6/09 9:17am annie:

another joy-filled comic book!!

Mon. 4/6/09 9:18am still b/p:

And of course, The Jeering Snickers = GNFAB

Mon. 4/6/09 9:21am bw:

K - you!! makin me wish I was a home worker

Mon. 4/6/09 9:23am Parq:

Hokay, I'll bite - what's GNFAB?

Mon. 4/6/09 9:24am V K:

Mon. 4/6/09 9:35am JCityJensen:

Hey There Mr. Ben Walker - great Monday morning rainy day set!
quick?-what is/was the background music you had playing before?

Mon. 4/6/09 9:36am bw:

a band called "a small good thing"

Mon. 4/6/09 9:38am F in VT:

http://www.gnfab.com/

Good name for a band

Mon. 4/6/09 9:39am Parq:

Superb!

Mon. 4/6/09 9:40am still b/p:

Well, that's what I meant by GNFAB, but I had no idea there was a website.
I just figured it comes up so easy and often that we oughta have an abbreviated reference by now.

Mon. 4/6/09 9:40am Parq:

The accu-playlist yields many GNFABs. My fave is a phrase Bryce once came up with - "Hamburger Mannequin".

Mon. 4/6/09 9:50am JD:

Ironically, "G. N. Fab" is a good name for a solo act

Mon. 4/6/09 9:54am bryan:

finally got a chance to listen to your show, mr. walker. very nice stuff.

Mon. 4/6/09 9:56am Mooose:

8 tracks were on a continuous loop, and cassettes could mostly be put on auto-flip
Also, I used to stack records on my kid player and they'd drop one by one

It's my first time hearing your show- it's out of sight!

Mon. 4/6/09 9:58am bw:

can't seem to log in to acuplaylist

Mon. 4/6/09 10:04am bw:

ok all caught up!
just like the song said.. I hope there is a wireless connection in heavon

Mon. 4/6/09 10:07am Randy Jackson:

You're pitchy, dawg.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:09am Cecile:

uh, oh, this isn't going to end well for Jessica and Mandrake the Magician, is it?

Mon. 4/6/09 10:10am Cecile:

Annie, Arthur mgazine is grt!

Mon. 4/6/09 10:12am annie:

cecile it is the best discovery i've made in a long time...

Mon. 4/6/09 10:13am Cecile:

I used to pick up the paper copies at a local comic book store, back when hub still had titles he was following.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:14am Pearly Sweets:

Pizzicato Five is a great way to start the week!

Mon. 4/6/09 10:15am annie:

i think i heard they are not printing anymore just web site; the monday night show here promotes them.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:15am bw:

hah PS - I didnt mean to speed this up so fast

Mon. 4/6/09 10:17am Pearly Sweets:

No worries. It's the caffeine I skimped out on this morning.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:25am Cecile:

yeah, that's what happened with the local paper here, The Rake. But I'm glad Arthur still has a Web presence.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:26am annie:

oooooh. the rake.. a new one to add...

Mon. 4/6/09 10:32am stranger:

it took a long time updating the realaudio but it's worse than before -_-

Mon. 4/6/09 10:36am bw:

what real audio?

Mon. 4/6/09 10:37am Cecile:

This is great, but I want people to start covering New Order's "Everything's Gone Green" now.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:43am Cecile:

hey, what's the weather like where everyone's at?
Me: sunny but chilly.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:46am Cecile:

aw, it does have a happy ending!

Mon. 4/6/09 10:46am annie:

cecile, it is damp, light rain and about 47 out. the house is damp and i have a fire going..my seedlinds are struggling through this damp cold bit like real troopers!!!!

Mon. 4/6/09 10:47am esch oder anarchie!:

Am I the only one who thinks Jessica looks just like Caprica 6?

Mon. 4/6/09 10:47am Cecile:

Kind of like that Jane Seymour movie on Mackinac Island, Somewhere in TIme.

How could they not, Annie? You have that wonderful earth mama energy aimed at 'em!

Mon. 4/6/09 10:48am Arthur Rimbaud:

Let's derange our senses!

Mon. 4/6/09 10:48am annie:

they and i have constant conversations... and i pat them, too.... crazy hippie lady living on a hill.. wooohoo!

Mon. 4/6/09 10:49am annie:

oh, and i saw my puppy yesterday. she has that cute little wagging puppy butt.. she is 4 weeks, and she is the timid one in the bunch.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:50am Cecile:

oh, oh, oh.
Not too timid, I hope, though.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:50am Carmichael:

It will be 75 - 80 deg. today, just like yesterday. Summer is here. Spent yesterday, running, drinking beer, mowing lawns and BBQing.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:51am Pearly Sweets:

Today it is overcast with storms here and there. In the upper 70's high a low that will bring us down to the 30s tonight before ending the week in, most likely, the 80s. Ugh. Weather needs to just make up its mind.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:52am Cecile:

man....70s.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:52am annie:

charmichael. sounds wonderful!!! cecile, it took her a while to come to me.. about three minutes or so, thay are all howling and crying and running and jumping and being damn cute.. i thinks she'll be ok..

Mon. 4/6/09 10:53am Pearly Sweets:

A very muggy and humid 70s. That's the thing about Florida. Is "70s" sounds nice, but half the time Florida weather finds a way to still make it miserable.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:53am Cecile:

I think she will, too.

Mon. 4/6/09 10:54am Cecile:

This sounds like "A Day In The Peter Singer Household"

Mon. 4/6/09 10:54am F in VT:

Mid 40s -rode to work in a very light rain. Grass hasn't started growing yet. This past weekend was the last one for the ski slopes - I didn't get there, but they got 6" of powder for the last day. Just rained down in the valley

Mon. 4/6/09 10:54am Cecile:

But, son, it is ok if you get down with the spider

Mon. 4/6/09 10:55am dc pat:

ok, what the f-- is this??

Mon. 4/6/09 10:55am Freddy:

What comic strip is this?

Mon. 4/6/09 10:58am Cecile:

Nancy: The Ketamine Years

Mon. 4/6/09 11:01am still b/p:

A big rough scrum of green oobleck on the radar slides this way to laugh at my bike-ride raingear. Would be a good day to watch burly water at the shore rocks. Heard spring peepers last night for the first time!

Mon. 4/6/09 11:01am Parq:

Great. GNFAB wasn't enough; now I gotta look up Caprica 6 *and* Ketamine.

It's dark in NYC today, and humid, but currently no rain to speak of. Was pouring at about 9:40, but I'm pleased to note that it stopped before I ventured out. Annie, we want puppy pictures on FB *now*!

Mon. 4/6/09 11:01am Cecile:

@F:
Sounds like Upper Michigan. Drive 5 miles and the weather's completely different.

I love that you said oobleck, b/p

Mon. 4/6/09 11:01am dc pat:

man am I diggin the turn this playlist has taken since (and including) story of north america

Mon. 4/6/09 11:03am Sean Daily:

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!

Mon. 4/6/09 11:04am Jøe Steele:

Awesome by the way.

Mon. 4/6/09 11:05am annie:

Mon. 4/6/09 11:06am Jøe Steele:

Mon. 4/6/09 11:09am Cecile:

Yeh! The grass's POV

Mon. 4/6/09 11:12am Cecile:

oooh, green green grass of home!

Mon. 4/6/09 11:13am Pearly Sweets:

Man, Mike Nesmith really wanted to write this song.

Mon. 4/6/09 11:15am Cecile:

THANK YOU.

Mon. 4/6/09 11:16am bw:

yer qwelcome

joe tex ok?

Mon. 4/6/09 11:17am Cecile:

Perfect! I love soul singers singing country.

Mon. 4/6/09 11:18am Parq:

Joe Tex did "Green Green Grass", eh? Gee, who didn't? I can remember a bar band in Vermont when I was a kid, at a ski resort, tearing this song up. Nice tie-in to the feature comic.

Mon. 4/6/09 11:18am annie:

finally got my computer back from "the shop" newly formatted. i had no idea how large my rss feed list was til had to remember all of them and retag them.. wow.... lots of work. and i'm using firefox now.... parq, i promise i will get a picture by this weekend.. she is a doll. black strip down her back and white tail-tip. two black dots on her left jowl.. real sweet..

Mon. 4/6/09 11:22am Carmichael:

I thought I recognized that voice. Where are the rest of the lads, Dee??

Mon. 4/6/09 11:22am Cecile:

Parq, I remember someone doing a parody on Hee-Haw a zillion years ago, singing the line "on the porch is my papa, with a shotgun..."

Mon. 4/6/09 11:23am annie:

sunshine breaking through clouds!!! totally unexpected! woohoo!

Mon. 4/6/09 11:26am dc pat:

man, I'm preferring the rain today. It looks doomy out.

Mon. 4/6/09 11:30am north guinea hills:

i wasn't paying attention to the playlist, but i believe it was the shudders that reminded me of a cleaner black tambourine.

Mon. 4/6/09 11:31am Pearly Sweets:

I love a good "la la la" in a song. "We All Love Peanut Butter" by the One Way Streets has the same vibe as the beginning of this song. It is on one of those Back From the Grave comps. and is about everyone dying.

Mon. 4/6/09 11:32am Parq:

Is anyone else finding that they have to refresh the playlist manually?

Mon. 4/6/09 11:33am annie:

parq, mine refreshes by itself.. sorry to say..

Mon. 4/6/09 11:34am Pearly Sweets:

Nope. Mine seems to be updating fine. A little lag in the chat. But the playlist is doing fine.

Mon. 4/6/09 11:41am Parq:

Hokay. Is anyone else at work, and finding that they have to refresh their minds manually?

Mon. 4/6/09 11:45am Carmichael:

Troggs!!!!!!

Mon. 4/6/09 11:46am north guinea hills:

yeah, the play list is lagging. not that it matters, but it could indicate other problems... (incoherent words due to monday morning hangover)

Mon. 4/6/09 11:46am bw:

Im sure the lag is my fault
sorry dear listener land.. Im slow today... ugh what a grey dreary day

Mon. 4/6/09 11:55am Josh:

Jacuzzi Boys yeah!
