OK, I admit I was disappointed when I heard Dan was not with us this morning. But the first two tracks are fantastic, so I feel we are in good hands! what was that first "song"? Wild, liked it.

Sun. 3/1/09 6:08am From: Betsy

Hey, thanks! It's from a CD of cult music from the 70's.

Sun. 3/1/09 6:10am From: Tom L

Excellent, thanks. How does one track that down? Montreal great too--Richie Havens produced goodness. Can now going. OK, I'm convinced. Looking forward to this show!

The cult comp is called "The Sound of Ascension: Audio Kool Aid from the 70s' Most Eccentric Cults & Communes." It is in our new bin here at the station. Try www.elsewherepublicworks.com to find it.

Sun. 3/1/09 6:14am From: Betsy

Hey Mister Postman thanks for listening!

Sun. 3/1/09 6:18am From: Tom L

That is the craziest website I've ever visited. Not sure what that will do to my head, or if I am too outside to be able to find my way inside.

Sun. 3/1/09 6:19am From: Betsy

Ha! Oh really? I haven't looked at it yet.

Sun. 3/1/09 6:23am From: Tom L

It is a terminal and you are supposed to figure out how to get in and find your way around. I feel like I am back in the 80s on my Radio Shack TRS 80. Spooky stuff.

Sun. 3/1/09 6:47am From: DJ Mama

LOVING the show Betsy! Love, love, love it! We don't want to leave the station!

Sun. 3/1/09 7:52am From: cofeemouth

RIP Clarence White. never played a bad lick

Sun. 3/1/09 7:56am From: Betsy

Hey Barry, WELCOME!

Yeah Coffee, Clarence White rules. There's a CD of him just playing instumentals that I wish I had here in the studio with me. One track, called "He Will Set Your Fields Afire" is amazing.

Sun. 3/1/09 8:18am From: cofeemouth

i was wonderin' if you'd play gram parsons at some point. i'm a huge fan. can't believe he was dead by 26!

Sun. 3/1/09 8:21am From: Betsy

Oh yes I love Gram!

Sun. 3/1/09 8:23am From: rick armstrong

I wished I had woken up earlier to hear more of your set. This is a great country/roots set here. I really wished I had heard the Hazlewood song off of that rare Sweden album. Oddly enough I was out seeing music last night and Mike Bones was one of the bands.

Sun. 3/1/09 8:27am From: Betsy

Hey Rick, that's awesome! I bet that was a fun show. You can listen to this show later today, when it is up in the WFMU archives.

Sun. 3/1/09 8:58am From: ratty

Sun. 3/1/09 8:59am From: Betsy

Hey thanks! See you next time someone asks me to fill in. This was a blast! Byeee.

Sun. 3/1/09 9:12am From: Barry

you should have your own radio station. that was a great set.

Sun. 3/1/09 9:18am From: Betsy

Thanks Barry!

Sun. 3/1/09 1:22pm From: Joe

LOVED the show this morning. Listened while watching snow fall with my 2-year-old and was thoroughly blissed out. Especially dug the off-beat tracks from Travel Agency and the Bunch -- and the Chet Atkins countripolitan instrumental was a revelation.
