Jessica:

Oh, Billy Jam: you sure know how to make a girl feel filthy, in all the bestest ways.
My little ears can hardly believe their great fortune: a special Ed Shepp "Love?" blip?!? That's got me feeling cool enough! To listen to Pseu Braun (who always brings it so mightily, we hope she's off somewhere sipping mai tais), and will surely have my muddy timbers shivering all through the night til the Cherry Blossom Clinic opens up. Heck, this show may have me floating all the way to Transpacific Sound Paradise. Good thing I Kamikaze'd in preparation, and, ah, Gave the Drummer Some.
[more waxing puntastic once I've had my morning coffee. and maybe also a beat.]

Put The Needle On the Record in Limerick....Represent Represent!

Dang son, I gotta move house - packing up records and whatnot makes a man's brain melt. I had one great quote earlier on while viewing some houses. One landlord showed me this double room, and I was like "Nah, too small. I need more space". He says, "Oh, you have a girlfriend". I was like, "Yes, but I want the space for records. She has her own house!".

Play some music to pack boxes, Billy! (Top show as alllways)
  4:03pm

I did freeform in college, and it completely wrecked me for "normal" radio. WFMU is like food to me.
  5:26pm
C:

  5:27pm
Cecile:

Oh, I love Hoagy Carmichael.
Is this what the Cab Calloway "Kicking the Gong Around" song is based on?
  5:29pm
Marshall Stacks:

Cecile, that's from Minnie the Moocher, isn't it? I always thought "kick the gong around" was slang for smoking opium.
  5:34pm
Cecile:

OH.
You're right.
DER.
I also get it mixed up with the "ballad of smokey joe" which Phil ALvin covered on that one LP...

Every once in a while, a frequent listener will hear something multiple times, but when it does happen, it's usually something really good, like that song where the girls shrieks that she never knew someone like you.

Aiiighhh! Please, mercy. Just from that one snippet of "Just the Way You Are", I'm going to have it stuck in my head for an hour.
  5:45pm
C:

This music is getting me in the holiday spirit! Will you be my valentine, Billy?
  5:49pm
