Third comment! Woo hoo!

Thu. 1/29/09 3:06pm GP:

Diane,
On Scotts show we were trying to figure out what Metal song features a chainsaw as instrument? Scott played some Plasmatics which was cool but it is something more recent I am thinking of and can't remember the band or the song..I think it was fairly mainstream for awhile.

Thu. 1/29/09 3:09pm Sean Daily:

Can't beat hellbilly music.

Thu. 1/29/09 3:09pm Steve in Hudson Valley:

Jackyl! They used a chainsaw for songs "Down on Me" and "The Lumberjack."

Thu. 1/29/09 3:10pm still b/p:

Line dance!!!!!!

Thu. 1/29/09 3:10pm Bad Ronald:

Ramones "Chainsaw"

Thu. 1/29/09 3:10pm GP:

Steve.....STEVE.....THANK YOU...thought I would never remember that!.....cool.

Thu. 1/29/09 3:11pm Cupcake Dog:

I was gonna say Jackyl, sihb, but work interrupted me...

Thu. 1/29/09 3:11pm Cupcake Dog:

sihv, I mean, it's hard typing with paws

Thu. 1/29/09 3:12pm Steve:

Fortunately, I don't really remember how it goes, so I can't get it in my head. Ick.

Thu. 1/29/09 3:13pm GP:

Well then lets just ask Diane to play it.
Diane, please play any Jackyl song that features a chainsaw.
Thank You.

Thu. 1/29/09 3:15pm Bobo:

I thought Diane plays only good music. So no JACKYL :-)

Thu. 1/29/09 3:15pm GP:

This New Lou Reeds song is hot.

Thu. 1/29/09 3:17pm kamikaze:

Jackyl. No.

Thu. 1/29/09 3:17pm chris:

listening from Boston as we speak. Proud to be a masshole

Thu. 1/29/09 3:17pm detroitdave:

Hi Diane! Standells.....Cool!

Thu. 1/29/09 3:18pm Cecile:

She could play the Turtles' Buzz Saw.
That's a great tune.

Thu. 1/29/09 3:20pm Cecile:

blooooooooooooooooooooodbath.

Thu. 1/29/09 3:20pm some. jerk.:

Maybe this SHOULD be the emergency alert sound.

Thu. 1/29/09 3:24pm GP:

Diane,
Ken had this on yesterday..pretty funny:

http://tiny.cc/MetalNames

Thu. 1/29/09 3:29pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I was shoveling snow this morning and thought of Ken's metal names list. It occurred to me that I didn't see Jethro Tull on the list and was going to mention there should be a category for bands like that. Nothing against Tull, but just a reference to the Grammy fiasco a few years ago.

Thu. 1/29/09 3:30pm AnAnonymousParty:

Well, there's the Texas Chainsaw Orchestra.

Thu. 1/29/09 3:33pm GP:

Yeah Ken. I don't see Stryper or Krokus there either.
I think Tull should be in middle of the chart.. <said in metal voice> "The nucleus of ALL that is metal" ; )

Thu. 1/29/09 3:43pm GP:

Everyone have a great afternoon.I'm out.
Great show as usual Diane.

Thu. 1/29/09 4:17pm Cecile:

Hey, Diane, do you have the new Satyricon floating around. I like it quite a bit!

Thu. 1/29/09 4:20pm kamikaze:

We don't have the new Satyricon, sorry!

Thu. 1/29/09 4:21pm AnAnonymousParty:

Suddenly I have a minty fresh feeling.

Thu. 1/29/09 4:23pm Cecile:

aw, bummer. It's supposed to come out here in February, I think. I downloaded an import from Amazon. Great stuff.

Thu. 1/29/09 4:52pm Dave in Chicago:

This song sounds like "Mountain Song" backwards. Whew, remember Jane's Addiction....

Thu. 1/29/09 4:57pm Steve in Hudson Valley:

The wife is suggested we head to Brittany in June for Hellfest. http://bitly.com/SXZv Looks like a pretty awesome lineup.

Thu. 1/29/09 5:00pm Cecile:

That sounds like an awesome vacation, IMO

Thu. 1/29/09 5:08pm Cecile:

Diane, do you have to both host and engineer when you have bands?

Thu. 1/29/09 5:16pm AnAnonymousParty:

Diggin' The Sun Paolo.

Thu. 1/29/09 5:43pm Glenn L:

I believe Diane usually puts out a call for an assistant engineer when her live bands are actually broadcasting live. As opposed to a prerecorded live session.

Thu. 1/29/09 5:58pm Cecile:

that would make sense, both are pretty time intensive.

Thu. 1/29/09 6:01pm kamikaze:

Actually, I get a board op to dj what I ask 'em to. I'm too picky about engineering to let anyone else mix!
