Useless informational tidbit of the day: google-imaging "Flipper" yields only two pictures of the band in the first three pages. Turns out it's some dolphin -- who knew?

Tue. 1/20/09 9:08am From: risky!

morning!

Tue. 1/20/09 9:09am From: Raf

Morning, Jason!

Tue. 1/20/09 9:09am From: Lizardner Dave

Chartered Trips! Nice! Is this 'cause Mould lives in DC now and there's some big hullaballoo going on there today?

Tue. 1/20/09 9:11am From: Parq

Mould should run for office, like his fellow show-biz Minnesot'n.

Tue. 1/20/09 9:14am From: Jason

Mornin everyone, thanks for being here on this historic day. Parq I agree re: Bob Mould. I coulda played "Turn On The News" maybe

Tue. 1/20/09 9:20am From: Lizardner Dave

Isn't "Turn On The News" a Grant Hart song though?

Tue. 1/20/09 9:22am From: Parq

There ya go, Dave. We've found Sen. Mould's chief of staff.

Tue. 1/20/09 9:23am From: annie

Tue. 1/20/09 9:29am From: Hatch

Happy inauguration day, everybody!

Tue. 1/20/09 9:32am From: Lizardner Dave

I'm looking out the window and it doesn't look like what was supposed to happen is happening. I was expecting it to rain puppies and the Dow was supposed to hit 20,000 today. What gives?

Tue. 1/20/09 9:33am From: risky!

FUGAZI!!!!

Tue. 1/20/09 9:34am From: Parq

And to you, Hatch; you have every right to be proud of yourself this morning. Great show yesterday.

Tue. 1/20/09 9:58am From: GP

Morning all..does anyone listening here use that Foobar 2000 stream player?
Question: What stream do I choose to get it to work? I'm USUALLY pretty savvy at this but I can't get that thing to work for nothin.

Tue. 1/20/09 9:59am From: annie

GP- i downloaded it and have yet to experiment...

Tue. 1/20/09 10:04am From: fishmonkeystew

Killer set this AM, Jason.

GP, give VLC a try. It's simple, free and seldom has issues. You can even tie it into Firefox. I use it to listen to mp3stream.wfmu.org.

Tue. 1/20/09 10:07am From: GP

Annie,
I can't see the Onion, You Tube, Facebook, MY Space, The FMU blog...just about everything good...either. They have it all blocked at our office.
Those Onion headlines from the other day were pretty funny and I wanted to check out some of the stories..but alas..could not.

Thanks FishMS, I will try out...stuck with Windows Media Player right now

Tue. 1/20/09 10:07am From: Carmichael

Happy days, all. Good morning, Jason.

The Dow is currently at 600,000, my bank account added 4 zeros, and I'm taller.

Tue. 1/20/09 10:09am From: GP

This song "Orphaned" is one of my favorites, so psyched he played this!

Tue. 1/20/09 10:16am From: stoopid question

any music elitists out there know a song thats spoken word, lyrics include "what does he DO in there?", amongst strange noises. heard it on WFMU one time

Tue. 1/20/09 10:16am From: ironing

I appreciate the photo. Nice set-up.

All sounding great this morning!

Tue. 1/20/09 10:16am From: GP

No Annie, not yet,..probably soon...I'll let you know. I have not signed up cause I can't get it at the office and after being on the screen all day sometimes the last thing I want to do at home is sit down in front of another computer.

This Max Tundra stuff sounds pretty cool so far.

That was great Nigerian funk! Yeah!

Tue. 1/20/09 11:31am From: Lysimachos

Tue. 1/20/09 11:34am From: Jonathan Marx

This might be my all-time favorite song from all of the Ethiopiques compilations. Anyone have any idea what "Hasabe" means in Amharic?

Tue. 1/20/09 11:37am From: Doug from DC

I'm wimping out and watching the inauguration from home. According to DCist, it's taking 30 minutes just to get out of a Metro station.

Tue. 1/20/09 11:39am From: Jason

Doug I support your decision. TV, computer, radio and other at-home media > subways, freezing temperatures, crowds

Tue. 1/20/09 11:40am From: GP

DC Doug don't blame you...stay warm

Tue. 1/20/09 11:41am From: annie

finally back on-line crickey!!! g-damn firewall reset itself!!! hey doug it's just like the 4th of july, cramped metro....

Tue. 1/20/09 11:45am From: Doug from DC

It's quite a bit more than July 4th, Annie. I always go downtown for the fireworks.

Tue. 1/20/09 11:46am From: annie

just talking to my kid, he is correcting me, too. i feel corrected...

Tue. 1/20/09 11:47am From: GP

Off to watch the inauguration..office has set up a television for us..

Tue. 1/20/09 11:51am From: Ike

GP, I didn't see your message about Foobar until now. In Foobar, click File then Add Location (or just CTRL+U) then type in http://aacplus.wfmu.org or http://mp3stream.wfmu.org and that's it!

It's pretty basic and the user interface isn't really friendly, but it usually operates on locked-down work computers.

Tue. 1/20/09 11:53am From: annie

great tune jason!!! wow...

Tue. 1/20/09 11:54am From: Doug from DC

Arethra's on!

Tue. 1/20/09 11:54am From: annie

at the end of the day at johnson's in kensington we would play this LOUD!!!

Tue. 1/20/09 11:56am From: Raf

Alright, I'm signing out, Jason. Great show! I especially enjoyed Max Tundra and Adam.

Tue. 1/20/09 11:58am From: jamesie and all at resonancefm

Hello put your headphones on Max... love from all of us from Resonance 104.4 fm
