I had a fairly gnarly cold recently and discovered there was nothing recorded on my DVR that I felt like watching. I was thisclose to watching Elvis Costello's talk show on demand, but I decided to switch over to VH11 instead and watch a rerun of the Rock of Love Bus series premiere. I think I made the right decision.

That little Bush-ism reminds me. Should I be honest with my boss and tell her I need to take Jan. 20th off because I want to go to an Inauguration Party? Or should I make something up? Or should I wait 'til Tuesday and call in sick or something? I called in gay last month. I saw Pink Reason recently!! The long-haired fella from the Electric Bunnies and some other local band comprised of 2/3 of Electric Bunnies called something like "You Melted My Sunglasses" or maybe "We Melted Your Sunglasses," but melting sunglasses is definitely part of it. Anyhoodle, I don't know if he's part of the band, but he played with them, and the lights were turned off, and people shined little flashlights toward the stage, and it was really good and spacey. I liked it! One of the Jacuzzi Boys handed me the flashlight he was using, but I had to return the flashlight afterward. If I remember, they played a bill with Times New Viking as part of this Art Basel thing sponsored by Converse.

It was a weird week.

Okay, I'm actually proud of this funny I just wrote. It was in response to a whiny film student complaining about how a piece of crap movie got greenlit. He does this all the time. I'm sorry your shitty film school movie isn't getting bought, jerkface, we're tired of hearing it. "I hope there's a sequel, and I hope it's called My Bloody Valentine II: Loveless."

On second thought, maybe Loveless should be the final part of a My Bloody Valentine triology. The sequel, then, should be My Bloody Valentine II: Isn't Anything, and the tagline will be "but filled with RAGE." Or something like that.
