Listener comments!

Wed. 1/14/09 3:13pm Cecile:

Irwin, I'm sorry I missed the usual tumultous bump transition between your program and Kenny's.

Did I miss anything good?

Wed. 1/14/09 3:14pm Cecile:

and bumpy transition, I meant to say

Wed. 1/14/09 3:16pm ?:

confusion, indeed

Wed. 1/14/09 3:16pm Cecile:

I see you are atoning for the version last week.

Wed. 1/14/09 3:16pm Sean Daily:

Has Nick the Bard been possessed by the Devil? Or maybe he's channeling Nathan Explosion?

Wed. 1/14/09 3:17pm Sean Daily:

Oh, and... Sixth comment! Woo hoo!

Wed. 1/14/09 3:17pm Cecile:

I liked the death metal feel of version #2

Wed. 1/14/09 3:19pm Sean Daily:

And now Nick the Bard is going to start firehose puking pea soup on a Catholic priest and I'M NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO SEE IT.

Wed. 1/14/09 3:20pm Cecile:

bravo, Nick!

Wed. 1/14/09 3:20pm Cornelius Bros. & Sister Rose:

Cecile! Welcome back. We were workin' this groove for you earlier today:
"It's collate,
Or turn Ken down,
I believe, I believe, I believe
I'm falling behiii-iind..."

Wed. 1/14/09 3:22pm Cecile:

LOLOLOL!

Yes, finally done, back from the mail mines.

Wed. 1/14/09 3:29pm Oatman:

RIP Wizz-O. Nick the bard has some competition!

Wed. 1/14/09 3:31pm Sean Daily:

Sorry, Oatman, but Wizz-O can't compete wtih Nick the Bard. Nick the Bard is in a whole 'nother league, compared to Wizz-O.

Now whether that's a GOOD thing or a BAD thing, I leave to you to decide.

Wed. 1/14/09 3:31pm IntangibleArts:

No competition!
Nick shall write his victory scriptures with the blood of his enemies!

Wed. 1/14/09 3:35pm Oatman:

You may be right, I may be crazy.

Wed. 1/14/09 3:35pm Cecile:

that 's SO metal.

I'm just glad no footage exists of me singing "Sabotage" with my 10 year old nephews when we were playing Rock Band recently.

Wed. 1/14/09 3:37pm Laura L:

But Oatman, maybe it's a lunatic we're lookin' for.

Wed. 1/14/09 3:42pm still b/p:

Rip Wizzo would be my name if I was a clever, moody, scrappy, surfing and hot-roddin' private investigator in a bad comic.... solving the mystery of the bloody scripture pages.

Wed. 1/14/09 3:43pm Oatman:

... don't try to save me .... eh, for all i know ya may be right,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyiSnQrjrDo

Wed. 1/14/09 3:44pm Oatman:

Rip Wizzo. Best name I've heard in ages. Someone needs to register www.ripwizzo.com

Wed. 1/14/09 3:46pm Sean Daily:

PLEASE GOD, MAKE THE ALLITERATION STOP. I'LL TALK. I'LL SPILL MY GUTS. JUST... MAKE IT STOOOOOOOP...

Wed. 1/14/09 3:51pm IntangibleArts:

The mystery of the bloody scripture pages was FOILED with a little help from FAB detergent! PROTEIN GETS OUT PROTEIN, inspector Wizzo! Muahahaaa!

Wed. 1/14/09 4:03pm Cecile:

oy, vey

Wed. 1/14/09 4:03pm Sean Daily:

"Find Jewish Stuff" is proof that Christians don't have the market cornered on creepy religious music.

Wed. 1/14/09 4:04pm Andy:

Amazing: I just received and email from Jews In Solidarity With Palestine! Shalom!

Wed. 1/14/09 4:05pm Cecile:

now we need to hear "A is for Allah" by the former Cat Stevens...

Wed. 1/14/09 4:05pm still b/p:

When she sings "I...see...a...", it sounds like "itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny yellow polka dot bikini" is coming next.

Wed. 1/14/09 4:06pm IntangibleArts:

.....or "Christ and the Pale Queens Mighty in Sorrow" by Current 93... just sayin'...

Wed. 1/14/09 4:10pm Cecile:

Tiny Tim was great at uncovering all these obscure pop tunes from the early part of the 20th century.

Wed. 1/14/09 4:13pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

ol school jamz

Wed. 1/14/09 4:13pm RSTVMO:

Hey Foddercodger.

Wed. 1/14/09 4:15pm Cecile:

dude, is this the real trinity?
Cause if it is, the Holy Spirit is really rocking the bass

Wed. 1/14/09 4:38pm north guinea hills:

wow, i have something in common w/ irwin, holy shiat!!!!

(ok, i have other tastes in common, but i'm not want to admit many of them)

Wed. 1/14/09 4:39pm Dave Matthews:

The Dave Matthews Band doesn't actually have anybody named Dave Matthews in it.

Wed. 1/14/09 4:40pm Dave Matthews:

Woops. I stand corrected. I am in the band. Never mind!

Wed. 1/14/09 4:41pm Intangible Arts:

yep, that's my Dave Matthews Band experience, exactly. "Vapor" summed it up nicely.

Wed. 1/14/09 4:42pm bozobarrett:

The Dave Matthews Band has been described as white bread with the crust trimmed off.

Wed. 1/14/09 4:43pm north guinea hills:

sweet, suicidal, i feel like i'm 10 again!

Wed. 1/14/09 4:43pm Cecile:

they used to play Institutionalized on our "active rock" station...

Wed. 1/14/09 4:43pm Laura L:

All I wanted was a Pepsi and SHE WOULDN'T GIVE IT TO ME!!!!

THANK YOU!

Wed. 1/14/09 4:43pm Sean Daily:

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES! You make me want to get into my ripped jeans and point my horns at the sky, Irwin.

Wed. 1/14/09 4:44pm ted:

Justin Bond/Kiki and Herb cover this song too

Wed. 1/14/09 4:46pm Ike:

Open playlist? Irwin must mean WRXP, but the clash of indie rock, burnt-out AOR, and overplayed classic rock is like mixing brussel sprouts, limburger cheese, and caramel. Sure, every once in a while they'll play Suicidal Tendencies or New York Dolls or Talking Heads, but its ratings are abysmal, so it will surely die soon.

Irwin, do you ever listen to WNYE in morning drive?

Wed. 1/14/09 4:47pm ted:

Institutionalized is also featured on Guitar Hero 2

Wed. 1/14/09 4:48pm Irwin:

What's "morning," Ike? I'm unfamiliar with that time of day.

Wed. 1/14/09 4:51pm AnAnonymousParty:

So it's a stereo test record?

Wed. 1/14/09 4:52pm Kevin of BayRidge:

For us radio listeners (in the morning), NYE is the new JM in the AM beater (no disrespect to Nachum!)

Wed. 1/14/09 4:58pm Ike:

What? I'm not the only one listening to that?

I bet WRXP would never play the Lightning Seeds. And if they did, it would be sandwiched between "Highway to Hell" and some horseshit by Lenny Kravitz.

Wed. 1/14/09 5:02pm Cecile:

I can listen to Highway to Hell every day of my life, but the other side of the sandwich does stink big time.

Wed. 1/14/09 5:05pm Irwin:

I get it, Ike. Music the masses enjoy, music that SELLS, is beneath you.

Wed. 1/14/09 5:05pm Fred Wisniewski:

Hi Irwin. Loving today's show. Can you play some Dave Matthews? I've heard great things.

Wed. 1/14/09 5:06pm Intangible Arts:

"wake up and pee?"
what?

Wed. 1/14/09 5:09pm Whale Dung:

Find something that is beneath ME!

Wed. 1/14/09 5:09pm Cecile:

these are junior high kids? The horn soloist is on fire.
the vocalist on the other hand...

Wed. 1/14/09 5:10pm Limbo Pole in Hell:

I am.

Wed. 1/14/09 5:11pm Whale Dung:

touche

Wed. 1/14/09 5:13pm Beany & Cecil:

can't imagine posting a comment every 5 minutes. on every show. for every song played. teach me how?

Wed. 1/14/09 5:13pm Ike:

Nah, I like a few songs that sell well. I like Trent's show (usually). I like Tom Petty and late Beatles and Spoon. I just don't want to hear any one song 128,000 times.

Just to be clear, I would like RXP to succeed, but the blend is way way off. Mixing music incorrectly -- FAIL.

Wed. 1/14/09 5:16pm Cecile:

is that a hint that I post too much? Cause I get it.

Wed. 1/14/09 5:16pm Kevin of BayRidge:

Whatever the issues of bad sandwiches or condescendations to the masses, RXP is the best thing right of 92 at this fleeting moment.

Irwin, thanks for the very best of Yes inspired Richie Havens

Wed. 1/14/09 5:19pm Irwin:

Post as inclined, Cecile. No prob here.

Wed. 1/14/09 5:21pm Cecile:

thanks

Wed. 1/14/09 5:27pm Ike:

So, if I say, "Hooray for the destruction of typos!" then will that seem like a non sequitur shortly?

Wed. 1/14/09 5:32pm Irwin:

Already is, Ike!

Wed. 1/14/09 5:35pm Jason:

Great Let's Active song! really enjoying the show today, especially The Middle Class, the Bats, the Jewish stuff, and of course the foo fighters

Wed. 1/14/09 5:39pm Sean Daily:

Erm... What does Chinese pagoda music have to do with the Milky Way?

Wed. 1/14/09 5:40pm Cecile:

this Milky Way song sounds like something Moondog would write.

Wed. 1/14/09 5:40pm missv:

what a purdy song!

Wed. 1/14/09 5:43pm AnAnonymousParty:

Gadolinium! Gadolinium! My favorite element!

Wed. 1/14/09 5:45pm Dugtzu:

Space songs is an awesome album- bought it second hand for the great cover art but the music is an amazing bonus!!!!!

Wed. 1/14/09 5:46pm AnAnonymousParty:

Hey, when did this turn into "Music from the hearts of Space"?

Wed. 1/14/09 5:46pm RSTVMO Inc.:

Moondog is right!

Mon. 1/19/09 9:01pm christiaan:
