Mon. 1/12/09 12:05pm zoot:

Golly gosh, Osdemir Erdogen sure sounds like Richard Thompson to me.....

Mon. 1/12/09 12:06pm jorge:

Hurrah Liz ! .

Mon. 1/12/09 12:06pm Carmichael:

Zoot!! I was thinking the exact same thing. I just saw him, and the sound of his voice was fresh in my mind.

Mon. 1/12/09 12:11pm jorge:

Yeah the new juggler sound is in da house lol, it will be nice to go back to peru actually

Mon. 1/12/09 12:16pm jon:

Starting off real good, Liz. Thanks!

Mon. 1/12/09 12:17pm gerardo:

¿cuándo vuelves a perú, jorge?

Mon. 1/12/09 12:19pm jorge:

Por ahora estoy disfrutando de Barcelona Gerardo que no está nada mal, pero este año toca pasar navidad con la familia así que pa ya vamos.

Mon. 1/12/09 12:21pm Liz B.:

Hi everybody, thanks for the tip on New Juggler Sound last week, Jorge!

Mon. 1/12/09 12:23pm gerardo:

¡me parece muy bien! - volver a vivir una navidad con harto sol y calor

un abrazo, hno.

(a todo esto, qué es lo que más te ha impresionado de bcn, hasta el momento?)

Mon. 1/12/09 12:24pm jorge:

glad you like them liz, hey please please please keep me update on that primavera thing, there are some rumours that are killing me,

Mon. 1/12/09 12:26pm jorge:

Mon. 1/12/09 12:35pm jorge:

oh thank YOU liz for the awesome music of today...as always.

Mon. 1/12/09 12:36pm Liz B.:

No news on primavera, keeping my fingers crossed!

Mon. 1/12/09 12:37pm gerardo:

"la crisis de la industria musical", jeje

aquí hay amigos míos que todavía la compran por el cd que trae, con los religiosos 6 meses de atraso ;)

baron in the trees sounds great, liz

(btw, what's the "20° tour" you mentioned?)

Mon. 1/12/09 12:38pm jorge:

it really seems that they will have the feelies playing here which is AWESOME!

Mon. 1/12/09 12:58pm Sean Daily:

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!

Mon. 1/12/09 1:00pm Cecile:

First comment after Sean Daily! Woo hoo!

Mon. 1/12/09 1:01pm Carmichael:

Liz, I am thoroughly mellowed. Quite a change from the first set. And that's good.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:02pm gerardo:

Hi, Sean and Cecile, "first commentators"!

talking about "sonido eshpañol", liz (here's 30°C)

Mon. 1/12/09 1:05pm Liz B.:

Wow, it's 30 degrees here, too (Farenheit, though... wish it was Celsius!)

Mon. 1/12/09 1:07pm Carmichael:

Hey, what's my "first comment? Chopped liver??

Mon. 1/12/09 1:09pm Cecile:

we were in quotes.
that means we aren't legit.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:13pm gerardo:

oh my!, that means winter here will be tough (brrr...)

no hurt feelings, carmichael - it seems sean and cecile were competing themselves ;) (nice reading you again, cecile)

animal collective played here in stgo. last november... i was @ work at that time...

Mon. 1/12/09 1:15pm still b/p:

Everybody knows it's craaazy bad luck to be first commenter when Turkish music's playin', Carm. Someone else'll have to tell you how to reverse the curse. Watch out for big dropping icicles and surly dogs and poor counter service today.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:16pm north guinea hills:

ahhh, the new villalobos, i've been waiting to hear this. thanks, liz!

Mon. 1/12/09 1:19pm Carmichael:

No problemo, Gerardo. I was just joking, in a kind of Hebrew way.

b/p, we are immune from icicles out here in sunny California, but the roaming curs and sullen youth in the service sector are always issues.

Perhaps a quart of Raki could help lift the curse? Something about fighting spirits with spirits.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:19pm Liz B.:

The 20 degree tour is hiking through NYC in cold weather! Lots of museums!

Mon. 1/12/09 1:20pm philthy:

Very cool sounds

Mon. 1/12/09 1:21pm dc pat:

Sooo, the Inaugural Luncheon will include something called A Brace of American Birds (pheasant and duck). First, what's a "brace"? Is that like a pile? And, since when did pheasant become indigenous? This isn't the kind of change I was expecting...

Mon. 1/12/09 1:22pm Cecile:

a brace is a pair.
wild pheasant is indigenous now the way mustangs are.

and mmmmmm. birds. nom nom nom.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:24pm gerardo:

thanx, liz - i imagined it meant sth like that ;)

this villalobos track reminds me of matías aguayo's "minimal" you played last year... and they are both chilean, lol

Mon. 1/12/09 1:25pm annie:

i would venture to say they are likely indigenous to the corral in which they were raised. and that's the extent of their wildness. there are "wild pheasant "farms around here..

Mon. 1/12/09 1:25pm dc pat:

Ah, I don't agree Cecile, pheasants are an invasive species that needs to be stamped out. All they do is scare the bejeezus out of little kids walking through corn fields. And if brace=pair, why didn't they just asy "pair." I guess it's like pork=dead pig, beef=dead cow, etc.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:27pm Cecile:

I will be happy to stomp them out.
Stomp them out with roast potatoes and a nice currant jelly alongside.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:28pm Carmichael:

And a nice Chianti.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:28pm dc pat:

Pres. Obama will be having them with sour cherry chutney...and loads of wine apparently.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:29pm Cecile:

I'd actually go with a nice Cab or something. LOL. Maybe if I made a pheasant ragu, though. mmmm.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:30pm dc pat:

pino noir is the menu choice...

Mon. 1/12/09 1:31pm gerardo:

Cool, Carmichael

I guess reading Saul Bellow's stuff and watching Woody Allen's movies is not enough to approach Hebrew humor in its entirety

Mon. 1/12/09 1:31pm Cecile:

that would be good.
I am not the biggest wine person, but I know that Chianti is a little light for game w/o tomatoes

Mon. 1/12/09 1:32pm Carmichael:

My Hannibal Lechter needs some work.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:33pm Cecile:

it's fine - I just got all pedantic and wine-lawyery

Mon. 1/12/09 1:34pm GP:

Hello Liz and everyone, my audio is intermittent today (problem is on my end, not FMU), so just saying hi. Hope you had a good new year and Chinese New Year is coming up in case you missed the other one!

Mon. 1/12/09 1:37pm dc pat:

puffy areolas has to be the #1 dumbest name I've heard.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:38pm annie:

hi gp. i am remembering you would like some music sent your way.... soon, my friend.. soon.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:39pm gerardo:

hi, gp

thanx for the recommendation - i guess i'll celebrate every forthcoming New Year's eve this 2009

Mon. 1/12/09 1:41pm ?:

Your Hannibal was fine, Carm. You're just off today. Eat something.

Mon. 1/12/09 1:44pm gerardo:

Mon. 1/12/09 1:48pm gerardo:

Mon. 1/12/09 1:50pm GP:

Thanks Annie...no hurry at all. I'll get your email later, maybe next week on Liz's show. Our internet connection is VERY flaky today.

Mon. 1/12/09 2:06pm annie:

word, gp....my email will always be there..

Mon. 1/12/09 2:06pm Hooty Sapperticker:

GP, my internet connection is like my Aunt Esther's pie crust today. I wonder what gives.

Mon. 1/12/09 2:07pm annie:

actually, gp, if you are in touch with bad ronald, he has it, too..

Mon. 1/12/09 2:08pm gerardo:

i feel as a little kid again, listening to "soooon of my father"

Mon. 1/12/09 2:10pm annie:

liz, sorry for not mentioning earlier. the music's been great and this rocks..

Mon. 1/12/09 2:12pm dc pat:

WAAAAIIIT a second...I'm suddenly in 4th grade and my brother and his friends are listening to an 8 track tape...

Mon. 1/12/09 2:13pm GP:

Ahhh.nothing like Copland on the Moog.

Mon. 1/12/09 2:13pm Vicki:

this is sounding like my show at the moment :)

Mon. 1/12/09 2:13pm gerardo:

Mon. 1/12/09 2:14pm tombom:

Mon. 1/12/09 2:17pm Carmichael:

Damn. I was in a meeting and missed Hoedown. Grrr ...

Mon. 1/12/09 2:18pm Vicki:

would love to - am sure it will happen. just waiting for a fancy invitation from somewhere.

Mon. 1/12/09 2:23pm gerardo:

great, vicki

i'll be sending u an e-mail soon, for more info and some in-depth conversation on those subjects ;)

Mon. 1/12/09 2:27pm Dex:

Please play Motorhead!!!! we need some more of that sugar.....

Mon. 1/12/09 2:32pm philthy:

Fall = good call

Mon. 1/12/09 2:41pm bw:

heh

Mon. 1/12/09 2:42pm Liz B.:

Sorry Ben, couldn't help myself!!! Happy birthday!

Mon. 1/12/09 2:50pm Cecile:

ELP is not for me.
Although, I do like Opeth and their frontman pretty much cribs from Greg Lake

Mon. 1/12/09 3:01pm north guinea hills:

my ex stole my joe beats experiment cd.... waaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!

Tue. 1/13/09 9:53am sebastian:

hey. what's this? someone stole my "nosy alienated chilean thinking he's in NY because of fmu". will have to do something about it.
