Playlist for Irene Trudel - December 22, 2008

Mondays 3pm - 6pm on WFMU 91.1 fm 90.1 fm wfmu.org

Music floating on calmer seas is "netted" by my ears and released to the hungry listeners. It's a stringy catch, but frequently live and always delectable.

Mon. 12/22/08 3:52pm From: Irene

Same here! In the town of Morristown, NJ we had one small record shop-- Greymat Music. If they didn't stock it I didn't hear about it. I didn't have a lot of resources like magazines at hand (And the internet was just a gleam in someone's eye). The store buyer had good taste-- I found out about Pearls Before Swine, and a lot of Brit-Folk from them.

Mon. 12/22/08 3:56pm From: Shannon

Oh I love this - what's playing now. I hope this is Artisokka...

Mon. 12/22/08 4:01pm From: paulthepostman

ANNIE, YES, ha, morris men, sorry ...no but I cut a fine swath cavorting from the beer tent betwixt tent pegs and sober folks with a fine head of froth swaying precariously in a pint of fine ale being careful to draw the attention of the fine morris men ladys as I do so. Even if I say so myself.

Mon. 12/22/08 4:10pm From: annie

Mon. 12/22/08 4:13pm From: paulthepostman

"Charlie Brown, you're the only person I know who could take a wonderful station like WFMU and turn it into a problem." I love how the dialog in that show is obviously spliced together from separate takes of a few words each.

Mon. 12/22/08 5:59pm From: annie

where did you hear that parq?

Mon. 12/22/08 6:00pm From: Shannon

Peace to you too, I! Thanks for the Christmas wishes and always-excellent tunes. *hugs*

Mon. 12/22/08 6:03pm From: Parq

Annie, are you still reading? Just listen to the thing. The edits - physical cuts in analog tape - are obvious.
