I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Still working on breakfast. This is the life. Excuse me, time for my second cup of coffee. Annie, how did your day go?
  12:23pm

annie:

  12:26pm
bryce:

hugo!!!

hey everyone, thought you'd be away from radios, basking in resplendent unitedstatesness...
  12:27pm
bryce:

B's lovely too! but's with ivory, not emerson's toot scrambler
  12:30pm
Hugo:

Or play something off "The Ear of the Beholder". Quintessentially English in an eccentric, lovable sort of way (one might say) ...
  12:33pm
Parq:

Sigh. Right around the time I was standing at a vending machine buying a $1 packaged chocolate cake so our uncle could have some kind of dessert, a can of beans at a mountaintop table was looking awfully good. But every family goes through it, and it's just currently our turn. Hanging out with everybody during Scott's show sure made the day better. Ditto today, with Bryce's always-stellar selections.
  12:35pm
Parq:

Bryce-o-bay, your show *is* resplendent unitedstatesness.
  12:37pm
bryce:

hahaaa, i'm pickin up a straw pork pie on the way home!

hugo, that lol's home in a cubby today...
  12:43pm
Parq:

I'm reading the Mubai coverage, and there's a photo in the Times Online of police rescuing one C. Rich Diffenderffer. Not to excuse or validate this act of terrorism in the slightest, but have you ever seen a more stereotypically American-plutocrat name than C. Rich Diffenderffer?
  12:45pm
annie:

( not that there's anything wrong with that) i have to look now..which paper?
  12:48pm
Parq:

Hang on, I'll grab a link.
  12:49pm
bryce:

derf, rich, derf
  12:49pm
annie:

the guy in the blue shirt?
  12:50pm
Parq:

  12:52pm
Hugo:

The Duets made it to the Wire Magazine's '100 records that set the world on fire (while no one was listening)' list. Well, someone's listening now and that's good.

John Butcher and Phil Durrant did a similar thing more recently.

One can't be diffident about Diffenderffers, no?
  12:52pm
Parq:

You realize, of course, every Bruckheimer wanna-be in Hollywood has a woodie over this right now.
  12:53pm
annie:

i have strong personal opinions about imperialism and unchecked corporatism..
  12:56pm
Different Diffenderffer:

Don't dick with this Diffenderfer.

I'm Done!
  12:58pm
zedprophfer:

five times five equals 1973

  1:24pm

  1:25pm

  1:29pm
Hugo:

Every free jazzer is a potential crooner ...
  1:30pm

  1:31pm

  1:41pm
Hugo:

  1:42pm
kid:

keeps rainin all the time
  1:46pm
kid:

is it the recording or the instrument that gives the drums that whispery sound?
  1:49pm
bryce:

  1:51pm
kid:

yeah, like brass Pringles!
  1:52pm
Hugo:

Jeez, Bryce is mining the FMP back catalogue ... very nice ... saw Bennink earlier this year, literally plays anything in the room (except the ceiling)
  1:53pm
?:

sounds so beautiful today, brice. by any chance you have any wolfgang fuchs? i don't have any of his fmp records anymore and it's been years since i've heard him. anyway, cheers. thanks for the magic.
  1:58pm
bryce:

  2:14pm
Hugo:

The "Pearls" is a stunner - a who's who of European improv (plus Braxton)!
  2:24pm
Sean Daily:

Ah yes, the venerable "Train Wreck in a Music Store" school of jazz. Very nice.
  2:32pm
Different Diffenderffer:

Don't dis dissonance dude.
  2:39pm
Ike:

"...confectioner's sugar/ mixed with beaks and feathers" is very evocative, but why spell "beaks" with an apostrophe? What belongs to the beak?

Meanwhile, I've had it with the resplendent unitedstatesness of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The turkey is juicy but the land is flat and drab.
  2:44pm
paulthepostman:

...mmm...both harmonious and dissonant color choices.
  2:47pm
Hugo:

definitely discomforting degrees of dischord
  2:55pm
sahak:

this is nice
  2:56pm
bryce:

YOU'RE nice
  2:58pm
brian:

i think the fruit cocktail needs some bacon on top. after all, bacon does make everything better.
  2:59pm
bryce:

  3:02pm
Ike:

  3:20pm
bryce:
