Listener comments!

Tue. 11/4/08 9:06am Lou:

rock my morning! awesome.

anyone know of a way to switch back and forth between ED and regular programming...i'm using a windows media player and there's no link to such a stream for the ED broadcast

Tue. 11/4/08 9:07am Raf:

Morning Jason!

Tue. 11/4/08 9:10am Jason:

Hey Raf!! Hey Lou!! Electile Dysfunction listen link is on the front page. I suggest listening to both at the same time

Tue. 11/4/08 9:11am Hatch:

Lou, I believe there's only an MP3 stream for Electile Dysfunction.

Tue. 11/4/08 9:17am JJZ:

Hm. Well, no election webstream for me. Port 8020 not allowed.

Tue. 11/4/08 9:19am Lou:

Daarrrrrr....blasted windows machines!
Is striving for an All-Mac society part of Obama's platform?

Tue. 11/4/08 9:19am annie:

i love you guys, but it's just too crazy for me, this music this morning.. any chance it will morph into something less noisy?

Tue. 11/4/08 9:22am annie:

see now i can hear something good. maybe if i wait five minutes and stop bitching....

Tue. 11/4/08 9:22am kent:

annie, what are you hearing right now?

Tue. 11/4/08 9:23am annie:

i'm on the stream, all i can listen to

Tue. 11/4/08 9:23am JJZ:

You could try hitting Ctrl-U in Windows Media Player and putting http://archivevirt.wfmu.org:8020 in the URL and see if that opens the stream for you, I'm not sure.

Tue. 11/4/08 9:25am kent:

annie, me too. i'm digging jason's show, but bummed i won't be able to catch any election day specials. i was just wondering bc the tunes didn't sound so noisy to me :)

Tue. 11/4/08 9:25am MeGA mAN:

Hey everyone, don't forget to turn your clocks forward an hour today!

Tue. 11/4/08 9:25am Qwerty:

that works, Thanks JJZ

Tue. 11/4/08 9:25am Lou:

JJZ...thanks for the tip for the computer dysfunctionals like me

Tue. 11/4/08 9:25am annie:

i'm chill, i guess i just had lack of sleep last night and the mathemagical wonder of music is hard to hear this am. i like the music.

Tue. 11/4/08 9:25am mEga maN:

Oh, I mean, vote

Tue. 11/4/08 9:29am Lou:

JJZ.,...yes! Thanks thanks thanks.

Tue. 11/4/08 9:30am rilo:

Tue. 11/4/08 9:36am sean:

Tue. 11/4/08 9:38am Jason:

thanks sean, that song is damn catchy

Tue. 11/4/08 9:46am doron:

hey windows media people. I've put the stream on port 80 for you. Please click the link off the home page again or Control +U and enter http://fms.wfmu.org

Tue. 11/4/08 9:47am stingy d:

i better hear tv party played today

Tue. 11/4/08 9:48am JJZ:

http://fms.wfmu.org works great for firewalled ol' me, thanks!

Tue. 11/4/08 9:49am dc pat:

I'll put in a vote for tv party too. And then follow it up with Rollins' letter to Anne Coulter.

Tue. 11/4/08 9:50am HotRod:

GObama!!!!!!!!!

Tue. 11/4/08 9:51am stingy d:

BELOCK OBAMA!

Tue. 11/4/08 9:54am Cecile:

Damn, we spent an hour in line at the polls, and we were there 20 minutes before they opened.

Record turnout in our district!

Tue. 11/4/08 9:55am annie:

worth every minute in the long run

Tue. 11/4/08 9:56am Qwerty:

Observing the election from New Zealand. Interesting... Very Interesting.

Tue. 11/4/08 9:57am annie:

what say they?

Tue. 11/4/08 9:57am JJZ:

Suburban Chicago had record turnout too. In 2004 there were about 3 people including me at the time I went, and today there was about 20. Some of them younger people. And the majority of the election judges were young people too.

Tue. 11/4/08 9:57am Koala Bear:

We have the vote!

Tue. 11/4/08 9:59am PMD:

Thankfully I only spent 15 minutes in Virginia. Interesting they had paper ballots here as well as electronic voting.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:00am Doug in DC:

In Fairfax, VA, the longest lines I've seen at the polls, and the longest wait. I got through really quickly though, because my last name was in the P-Z range, and there was an alphabetic imbalance. I used the paper ballot.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:00am annie:

pmd-word up. everyone should ask for a paper ballot

Tue. 11/4/08 10:00am Cecile:

JJZ, yes! on the younger election judges.
A local high school kid was getting trained in as a judge intern as we were voting.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:01am Cecile:

that's what we use in Mpls.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:01am PMD:

You know Doug, that was the same at my station too! What, do only people with names A-L live in Fairfax County?

Tue. 11/4/08 10:02am PMD:

Yes, I used paper. I felt a little paranoid doing it, but felt better also.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:03am Cecile:

LOL! The registrars were saying that the letters always go in runs - all the A-Ls with show up, then all the M-Z, but never the twain shall meet...

Tue. 11/4/08 10:04am annie:

is there any way i can tell what is being played over the airwaves? whilst i listen online?

Tue. 11/4/08 10:04am Doug in DC:

The scanner didn't have good instructions posted. I had to ask if the form went in face-up or face-down.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:06am annie:

oddly enough, there will be those who will not ask for help

Tue. 11/4/08 10:07am Doug in DC:

Hopefully their votes get counted. I voted, I think!

Tue. 11/4/08 10:07am dc pat:

I'm getting dizzy switching back and forth between the web-only stream and Jason's show. I'm going to have to play both at the same time...

Tue. 11/4/08 10:09am Doug in DC:

Is there a 32K stream available for Electile Dysfunction? I can't stream at 128K here at work.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:09am annie:

this reminds me of the april fools broadcast from san francisco.. which show am i actually listening to and which playlist is real?

Tue. 11/4/08 10:11am JJZ:

I just figured all the hooplah would have taken place on the normal stream.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:12am stingy d:

yea if there is a windows fix for this electily dysfunciton i'd liek to check it out too

Tue. 11/4/08 10:13am Cecile:

I'm sticking with the stream right now, and will switch to the election stuff tonight.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:13am annie:

word stingy i agree; have two streams running at the same time

Tue. 11/4/08 10:14am Bad Ronald:

I'm on both and the servers is not accepting any more stream requests.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:14am stingy d:

i can't get the ED stream
oh welp

Tue. 11/4/08 10:14am sahak:

Tue. 11/4/08 10:18am Raf:

Can you talk about this Clouds track in the mic break? I am intrigued.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:19am PMD:

It just booted me off, dammit...

Tue. 11/4/08 10:20am PMD:

Oh crap Doug. Now you have me worred. Which way was it?? Up or down?

Tue. 11/4/08 10:20am Cecile:

Yeah, ngh, and I hear the replacements are the worst. I just had arthroscopy, and that was enough for me, thxbai.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:21am stingy d:

Tue. 11/4/08 10:25am Jason:

That was Kites, the first track on that album is harsh but it has some quiet peaceful moments as well

Tue. 11/4/08 10:27am stingy d:

the kites i know of was feedback and noise extravaganza... and prurient... was even more aggressive... it don't matta

Tue. 11/4/08 10:29am Raf:

Tue. 11/4/08 10:31am Doug in DC:

I used face-up. I asked and they said that was OK. But I wasn't all that confident about it, either.

Tue. 11/4/08 10:31am stingy d:

Remember seeing those Juicy jeans when they first came out and was wondering why the chick wearing them was calling so much attention to her a$$, with the 4 inch high letters spelling out "Juicy" across her backside....but I guess that is the point, whatever.....I will never understand it.
