Third comment! Woo hoo!

Wed. 10/29/08 3:17pm From: CamelCaseForYourFace

The son sounds a bit like Walken. Or someone doing someone doing Walken.

Thank You for the Judson, Irwin. My day is now complete.

Wed. 10/29/08 3:46pm From: Swami

Wed. 10/29/08 3:51pm From: AnAnonymousParty

Hey! Put 60's/70s TV theme show music in a blender and get ... The SG Sound.

Wed. 10/29/08 3:52pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

if you don't add the Brubeck it won't come out right

Wed. 10/29/08 3:54pm From: Ike

Thanks for talking me down from my pre-election madness, Irwin. Or trying to. <foams at mouth> WE'RE COMING FOR YOU, ES&S AND DIEBOLD! GET THE EFFIGIES! <ahem> Sorry, I just blacked out for a moment there.

Wed. 10/29/08 3:56pm From: AnAnonymousParty

Yes, but you have to be careful, a little Brubeck goes a long way ...

Wed. 10/29/08 4:03pm From: GP

Yes, indeed...a bit like Marmite, or for those blokes in the southern hemisphere, Vegemite.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:05pm From: AnAnonymousParty

Hmm ... Vegemite. Mix it with my natto.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:11pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

your what now?

Wed. 10/29/08 4:13pm From: GP

DCE,
Natto= Fermented soy beans in can or something...looks like black mold....

Wed. 10/29/08 4:15pm From: Sean Daily

GP: "Looks like black mold". Yum.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:15pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

gawd that sounds tempting. black mold and whatever vegemite actually is, put that on some pita bread or something with bamboo shoots.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:15pm From: GP

Yikes..Raggy.....Roasts!!

Wed. 10/29/08 4:15pm From: AnAnonymousParty

Natto: Smells like Satan's feet, produces stringy snotty stringy mucousy stuff when stirred. Challenging to eat for many reasons. (Shivers) Ugh.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:18pm From: Parq

Speaking of 60s TV themes, has anybody seen this? Star Wars vs Saul Bass.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yoIEWpl9oc

Wed. 10/29/08 4:18pm From: AnAnonymousPary

I think Vegemite is a fermented yeast paste. Kinda like Miso, only Miso is fermented soy.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:19pm From: bzul

Guess who's comin' to dinner...Natto Dreadlunch.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:19pm From: ?

DCE: According to Wikipedia (so you know it's wrong):

Vegemite (IPA: /ˈvɛdʒɨmaɪt/) is a dark brown food paste made from yeast extract, used mainly as a spread on sandwiches, toast and cracker biscuits, as well as a filling of pastries like Cheesymite scroll, in Australia and New Zealand. It is similar to British and New Zealand Marmite and to Swiss Cenovis.

Black mold on yeast. Like I said: Yum.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:20pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

I'm looking for a fermented lover.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:20pm From: Sean Daily

bzul: Wasn't "Natto Dreadlunch" one of the aliens in the cantina scene in "Star Wars"?

Wed. 10/29/08 4:21pm From: GP

AAp,
There is some website (of course there is) where this, ahem, gentleman, actually tries out all of those crazy foods like Natto, etc...and posts a review if he is able to survive the encounter....I'll try to find it.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:22pm From: bzul

...in a galaxy rastafari-fari away, mon.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:23pm From: AnAnonymousParty

Oh, I've tried them all myself ... while you're looking, take a peek at Durian fruit.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:24pm From: GP

Actually.............very long pause....Marmite is quite good on vanilla ice cream...gives it a taste like pistacio....I guess it would just be tons simpler to just put some dang pistacios in your ice cream...but where is the fun in that?

Wed. 10/29/08 4:25pm From: GP

Curtis!...Thanks Irwin.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:26pm From: Ike

AAP, I like durian. The smell isn't that bad, and it doesn't taste anything like it smells. It just smells a little overripe. The flavor is mild. The texture is wonderful, custardy and creamy. I love the sci-fi look of the outer shell, too.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:34pm From: Cecile

that Julie London Calendar Girl album was a big part of our growing up. Not so much the music, but more the cover: "Look, the nurse from Emergency when she was way young!"

Wed. 10/29/08 4:34pm From: AnAnonymousParty

I think it may vary from variety or by person, maybe the ones I had were particularly 'overripe' ... but you can't deny people either love it or hate it. Good once you get past the aroma. But then I've experienced cheeses that could kick Durian's ass.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:36pm From: Sean Daily

Of course WFMU has a lab. His name is Booger, he's three years old and he really likes his squeaky frog.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:42pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

this has that hollow muddy sound of an old 8 track

Wed. 10/29/08 4:42pm From: GP

Here is the crazy foo dwebsite....What was thought was black mold was actually slime...although ai notice on this page that there is a corn product that has an "edible" black fungus on it. http://www.thesneeze.com/mt-archives/cat_steve_dont_eat_it.php

Wed. 10/29/08 4:43pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

aw crap

Wed. 10/29/08 4:43pm From: Barney

I was peer-pressured into eating a natto omelette and it was a lot tastier than I expected, though it took a few drinks to get my courage up.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:45pm From: Sean Daily

Yes, "High Maintenance Woman". The country-western anthem of creepy stalker weirdos everywhere.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:47pm From: bzul

Cats for Jesus drinking from a saucer, Big Dog Daddy, The Puppies...a pet set!

Wed. 10/29/08 4:48pm From: Ike

Country-western? More like country-plastic. As always, it's so over-over-over-overproduced! That Johnny Cash song that Ken played this morning, even though a remix, now that was real country. Yeah, I know, it goes without saying.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:48pm From: Kyle

My iTunes still says "from String Quartet No. 9 (1988) by Ben Johnston on WFMU on Kenny G's show

Wed. 10/29/08 4:50pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

maybe your batteries are weak

Wed. 10/29/08 4:50pm From: Laurie

Yeah, I'm no Toby Keith fan, but at least he's voting for Obama, right? He said that Obama is the best candidate his party has had since Clinton. Then again, he also said Obama "acts Caucasian" or some crazy shit like that, so...

Wed. 10/29/08 4:51pm From: AnAnonymousParty

Everybody who lives out here in America's rural midwest corn growin' country knows what Corn Smut is!

Fresh = good, canned = Just Plain Wrong.

Course, this time of the year we're all out looking for Hen-of-the-Woods.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:51pm From: Sean Daily

Ike: Got to agree with you there...

Wed. 10/29/08 4:53pm From: bzul

Well... we had a pet dead man once, but my folks wouldn't let us bring an electric freak home and feed it.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:53pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

we sure are getting a lesson in gross-out cuisine today.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:54pm From: Sean Daily

Corn smut = Porn from the Midewst?

Wed. 10/29/08 4:54pm From: GP

I'm looking for a fermented corn smut porn slut lover.

Wed. 10/29/08 4:57pm From: Laurie

Another wonderful Todd Abramson Production.

Wed. 10/29/08 5:03pm From: Parq

"He insists . . . he says . . . " Are you implying that you doubt the veracity of these statements?

Wed. 10/29/08 5:07pm From: AnAnonymousParty

I don't have a problem with Toby Keith music, and his shows are good too if you enjoy really long Ford commercials.

Wed. 10/29/08 5:10pm From: Parq

Next time, Shaina Twain. Bwaah-ha-ha!

Wed. 10/29/08 5:11pm From: Quilty

Wed. 10/29/08 5:21pm From: Laurie

This Minisnap song is fabulous.

Wed. 10/29/08 5:23pm From: Parq

Hadn't heard Cruella De Ville apart from that one about the two rotten kids. Pretty neet!

Wed. 10/29/08 5:38pm From: Sean Daily

Hey! I think there's some slight sexual double entendre in this Duke of Iron song!

Mind, I'm not complaining. I'm just saying...

Wed. 10/29/08 5:39pm From: Irwin

Sean - ya think?

Wed. 10/29/08 5:40pm From: Fred

Nonsense, fellows. Now excuse me, I've got to jive on she mandolin.

Wed. 10/29/08 6:00pm From: Parq

Good lord, do you realize there's no Wikipedia page for Don Brockway? How is such an injustice possible?

Wed. 11/19/08 10:24pm From: Steve Barton
