Tue. 10/21/08 10:00am Ken:

Great show Hatch! I never heard this version of "The Way You Touch My Hand" before - is this the original?

Tue. 10/21/08 10:01am dc pat:

It's funny how 7" brings out all the good old punk..

Tue. 10/21/08 10:01am Cecile:

Tue. 10/21/08 10:02am ~L:

Tue. 10/21/08 10:09am monera:

it's the end of the world 7 inch party

Tue. 10/21/08 10:11am Hatch:

Ken, I believe it is the original version and I think it's actually on that Revelons anthology, toward the end of the CD.

Tue. 10/21/08 10:16am Cecile:

yay, the monos!

Tue. 10/21/08 10:18am HotRod:

Damn I love the Damned.

Neat Neat Neat!!!

Tue. 10/21/08 10:20am Cecile:

Hatch, I missed the whole thing. How come you're not on the Fall Schedule?

Tue. 10/21/08 10:22am Hatch:

Next week McCain's dumping Palin and putting me on as VP for a bipartisan ticket. So I won't be able to come into Jersey City on a regular basis once me and Johnny boy are sworn in.

Tue. 10/21/08 10:23am Cecile:

Ah, I get it. You violated parole and are going back to the pen. Stay strong, bro.

Tue. 10/21/08 10:24am Bad Ronald:

Are you gonna shave your legs for the occasion?

Tue. 10/21/08 10:29am Cecile:

Ah, I remember when 17 Magazine back in the 70s thought that Runt song was shockingly sexist. How innocent we were back then....

Tue. 10/21/08 10:30am Hatch:

Already shave my legs every day, Ronald.

Tue. 10/21/08 10:31am Bad Ronald:

Smooth Hatch very smooth.

Tue. 10/21/08 10:33am HotRod:

"glam-bam thank you man! "

Bad Ronald, you leave the BEST comments.

SIMPLY THE BEST! BETTER THAN ALL THE REST! ;)

Tue. 10/21/08 10:34am Bad Ronald:

Tx HotRod! - How was PR?

Tue. 10/21/08 10:36am HotRod:

Wonderful. I needed a recharge. Watch out now!

Tue. 10/21/08 10:38am Bad Ronald:

Well alright - can't wait for your show...

Tue. 10/21/08 10:43am efd:

I don't suppose there's a 7" version of Medium Medium's "Hungry, So Angry" floating around that you could dedicate to McCain...

Tue. 10/21/08 10:43am R. P.:

Jessie Mae kinda sounds like Daniel Johnston.

Tue. 10/21/08 10:45am Hatch:

Not here, unfortunately, Mr. Funk-Davies. Weird that you mention that, I just bought a copy of the LP last week. And I picked it up in Phoenix, too!

Tue. 10/21/08 10:45am Bad Ronald:

whattabout Made for TV's - "So Afraid of the Russians"?

Tue. 10/21/08 10:46am C:

you could almost put together a "McCain 2008" musical from the song selection this morning. i can just picture the campaign manager singing "we gotta get you a woman" while the DNC is playing in the background

Tue. 10/21/08 10:47am Hatch:

This song doesn't work though... although maybe it would if the lyrics were changed to "Naptime Man."

Tue. 10/21/08 10:50am GP:

What did she just say about her face?

Tue. 10/21/08 10:52am Carmichael:

All I got to say is "Uhh!!"

Tue. 10/21/08 10:54am s in s:

my feet are having a party

Tue. 10/21/08 10:54am Carmichael:

Whoa, that first set was my entire youth! And Bubble Puppy down the list too!

Dang Hatch, you ARE the man>

Tue. 10/21/08 10:54am Bad Ronald:

Parliament's "Chocolate City"

Tue. 10/21/08 10:55am GP:

James Brown actually makes sense in this song. He gets my vote.

Tue. 10/21/08 10:56am Parq:

The Godfather wanted to be the Governor, and we didn't take him up on it? Oh, history will judge us harshly.

Tue. 10/21/08 10:58am Carmichael:

History is a cruel mistress.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:00am GP:

8th grade school dance in Thanks Hatch

Tue. 10/21/08 11:00am carmichael:

Next up we need "Indian Giver" by 1910 Fruitgum Co.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:01am Parq:

Yeah, GP, I can never hear this without picturing 14-year-old girls with light brown hair bouncing in place with one fist in the air.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:01am Negator:

SWEET! I love this band so much! Everybody wants to be Cheap Trick, and so do I, but more than anything I wanna be in Sweet. Thanks, Hatch. You should keep these 45's! Fuck that guy from Leo. Tee-Hee.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:01am Hatch:

8th grade school dance? Dang, I was so born in the wrong decade. We had to dance to shit like Mariah Carey and TLC.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:03am Cecile:

I love the Sweet. They were the band that really was my gateway drug into weird music obsession.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:03am Jason:

Lemme take a photo, awesome!

Tue. 10/21/08 11:04am Joe:

SPEEDIES! Hatch, I want this single very badly.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:04am Carmichael:

Love is Like Oxygen .....

They spoke the truth, no? <looks wistfully into the distance ...>

Tue. 10/21/08 11:04am GP:

Hatch your musical selections have MORE than made up for you being so unfortunate as to being subjected to dance moves by TLC.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:04am Hatch:

Joe, I found it at a stoop sale in Park Slope... for 50 cents!!!!

Tue. 10/21/08 11:05am Carmichael:

How about the Freshies??

Tue. 10/21/08 11:07am GP:

Carmichael...too right...Don't forget "Ballroom Blitz"

Tue. 10/21/08 11:08am Bad Ronald:

Tyla Gang - nice

wottabout some Pink Fairies to boot?

Tue. 10/21/08 11:09am Joe:

50 cents? Awww, you're killin' me!

Tue. 10/21/08 11:09am Carmichael:

Bolan!!!!

Tue. 10/21/08 11:12am Cecile:

I got mine that cheap, too, in Ann Arbor years ago.
That 45 was rattling around Midwest record bins for years.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:15am Jonathan Marx:

Hey, Nashville sends a shout-out and a thanks for playing The Feminine Complex!

Tue. 10/21/08 11:17am Hatch:

Here's the scratchiness I promised...

Tue. 10/21/08 11:18am Carmichael:

Hatch, is this the flip side of "Want Ads"?

Tue. 10/21/08 11:19am Parq:

H, trust me, one day you'll be nostalgic about Mariah and TLC. You'll be smug in your forties while some kid born in 2006 complains about having had to make do with Cheez Wizz and Tweets Palin.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:19am Hatch:

Nope, it's from a different album. "One Monkey... Part II" is the b-side.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:20am Hatch:

That's Supreme Overlord Of The Universe Tweets Palin to you, Parq.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:21am GP:

Oh YESSSSS. Love Betty !

Tue. 10/21/08 11:23am Cecile:

Joe, if you want my trashed Speedies 45 with the torn cover, let me know. I can have Mr. Hatch give you my email address. I have the music on that ROIR tape.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:25am Mike B.:

Daptone represent!

Tue. 10/21/08 11:28am Joe:

Thanks for the offer, Cecile--but I want to find this one for myself somewhere for 50 cents!

Tue. 10/21/08 11:31am Cecile:

let me know if you change your mind!

Tue. 10/21/08 11:33am Ed Gein:

Come here Hatch gimme a hug!

Tue. 10/21/08 11:34am pm:

Supreme Overlord Station of the Universe, Hatch

Tue. 10/21/08 11:35am dc pat:

woke up thinking about Strummer today.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:35am Hatch:

You've got lovely skin, Ed. Do you use some kind of product?

Tue. 10/21/08 11:36am Bad Ronald:

Listened to the first LP last night!

Tue. 10/21/08 11:36am Ed Gein:

english leather!

Tue. 10/21/08 11:39am dc pat:

I was at the beach one year and saw an advertisement for a Junior Murvin show...Got there and turned out to be "Junior Marvin". I was disappointed.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:41am jason:

no "fishing with john" 7' s?

Tue. 10/21/08 11:42am Hatch:

I would've had to press one myself! Too much work.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:47am pm:

Wow, danced to this JM in early 70's in The Grapevine, P'boro' UK... incrdible place, caught Black Sabbath there once or twice too...may go some way to explaining how the 1st two 7'' 45's I bought were Freda Payne(?) and Led Zep.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:52am GP:

dc, the rope smoke will do that to you! What kind of music did "Junior Marvin" play?
pm, nothing wrong with a Zep 45, nothing at all.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:53am Cecile:

I haz this 45! It's a great song, one of the best covers evah.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:54am dc pat:

Marvin: roots reggae. He wasn't bad but no Murvin.

Tue. 10/21/08 11:57am freddie:

I just tuned in... great playlist, I wish I had remembered earlier. Jet Boy Jet Girl was included on the "A Date With John Waters" comp, which I think is really fitting. Nice early Rundgren, too!

Tue. 10/21/08 12:00pm pm:

GP, re JM, can only just remember that one. Or was the Zep 12"?

Tue. 10/21/08 3:04pm d:

nice
