Thu. 9/25/08 12:33pm From: Cecile

Can you play something from that one Mary Weiss record?

Thu. 9/25/08 12:39pm From: no MW

.The Mary Weiss album is awful. A senior citizen singing unrequited love songs is just plain weird.
And she sounds like she swallowed 1,ooo ciggies and not in a good Tom Waits sorta way

Thu. 9/25/08 12:40pm From: Carmichael

Tell us how you really feel.

Thu. 9/25/08 12:41pm From: Bad Ronald

That is hilarious Stingy!!

Thu. 9/25/08 12:41pm From: Cecile

I like it for those very reasons.

Thu. 9/25/08 12:42pm From: stingy d

Thu. 9/25/08 12:44pm From: Cecile

thanks, Joe!

Thu. 9/25/08 12:45pm From: ?

I think telling this DJ you hate something just eggs him on. so it is futile!

Thu. 9/25/08 12:45pm From: Bad Ronald

Basher!!!

Thu. 9/25/08 12:46pm From: Mizzou

Great show man!

Thu. 9/25/08 12:46pm From: Jeb

Amen Parq!

ITA infinity, Parq

Thu. 9/25/08 12:57pm From: Carmichael

Rockin' show, Joe. Though I'm older and office-bound, I'm re-learning my stompin' rock coolness though this music.

Keep flailing away hard on that low E chord.

Thu. 9/25/08 12:59pm From: Cynthia

The album has its ups and downs in my opinion... but I've seen Mary Weiss a few times and she/band she's been playing with have been excellent. Mary actually sounds better than when she was a kid in shangris las. And I can be hyper critical of vocalists.....

Thu. 9/25/08 1:01pm From: ?

I remember when Joe had a cough on the air and someone complained hewasn't using the cough button... he played a 5 minute track of just coughing..Ah.. radio at its finest! Joe's way or the highway FCCerS! ( Joe's way is so much more scenic!)

Thu. 9/25/08 1:02pm From: Sean Daily

This Black Angels song casts a dark, almost ultraviolet radiance that penetrates to the unlit parts of my heart and soul. Me likes, Joe.

Thu. 9/25/08 1:06pm From: The Bad Wife

Cmchl is right ...stellar show so far.

Thu. 9/25/08 1:08pm From: Bad Ronald

I can't recall if Joe has ever let me down.

Three Cheers for Three Chord Monte!!!

Thu. 9/25/08 1:12pm From: Sean Daily

I don't know what you put on your Rice Krispies today, Joe, but by all means, keep putting it on. Fantastic set with the jangle-jangle guitars.

Thu. 9/25/08 1:16pm From: Bad Ronald

Some Pink Fairies would fit in nice with this guitargasmic set...

Just sayin' it.

Thu. 9/25/08 1:21pm From: Laurie

I love Cub!! They were my favorite band when I was 15.

Thu. 9/25/08 1:22pm From: Moo

Wall Street on welfare....

Thu. 9/25/08 1:26pm From: The Voice of Cheeze

I second the Pink Fairies suggestion.

Thu. 9/25/08 1:28pm From: Cecile

Thu. 9/25/08 1:35pm From: Parq

Just got back from a lunch break in the bleak, chilly Manhattan air. I get back inside and its Southern California in June! Diggin' it.

Thu. 9/25/08 1:37pm From: Carmichael

How's about the Lively Ones, "Rik A Tik"?

Thu. 9/25/08 1:42pm From: HotRod

Thu. 9/25/08 2:05pm From: Parq

Joe, that last drop-in ("Hmm -- Yeh -- Mm") was great. Any chance you'll reveal the source?

Thu. 9/25/08 2:06pm From: Bad Ronald

King of the Hill

Thu. 9/25/08 2:06pm From: Joe B

From the King of the Hill CD. Highlight is Hank Hill singing Teddy Bear

Thu. 9/25/08 2:16pm From: Kyle Antivenin

Wow! First time listener, and I am really impressed by your show.

Thu. 9/25/08 2:17pm From: Parq

Cool. Many thanks, Joe and BR. Or should I say Teddy BR?

Thu. 9/25/08 2:27pm From: Mizzou

Any anthropology or sociology majors from NE universities out there? I have a potential thesis project for you; study the extinction of the self-made man. You study area is the Wall Street district of the former colony of Native Peoples. Go get'em champ!

Thu. 9/25/08 2:35pm From: Rubble

Thu. 9/25/08 2:38pm From: Rubble

ALejandro's voice is suddenly reminding me of Bowie, in a sublte but very real way!

Thu. 9/25/08 2:39pm From: Rubble

Thu. 9/25/08 2:40pm From: Cecile

suttle

Thu. 9/25/08 2:41pm From: C

Yeah, I hear it to. Maybe because of Tony Visconti's influence?? I saw Alejandro cover "All the Young Dudes" a few years ago and it was great.

Thu. 9/25/08 2:43pm From: Rubble

Ah, I didn't realize Visconti worked with him! I suppose that could be!
I'm settled on 'subtle'... :)

Thu. 9/25/08 2:54pm From: Parq

Escovedo covering "Dudes"? Oh man, that must have been something!

Thu. 9/25/08 2:55pm From: ?
