Listener comments!

  12:04pm
Kyle:

Good day sir
  12:08pm
Bad Ronald:

Tony C and the place to be!

Hello all.
  12:10pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

gather round, now, for some f'd up tunes on Tuesday. Missed ya last week.
  12:18pm
Sean Daily:

Fourth comment! Woo hoo!
  12:19pm
clueless but excited:

can someone tell me about this show at all?
  12:23pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

suffice it to say, it's THE BEST! I'll let Tony do the specifics on his first break.
  12:23pm
gumby:

Tony plays Psychedelic Fork and Rhinoceros usually from 7" singles. A couple of weeks ago he played a whole boatload of crazy pot smokin' hippie music.
  12:25pm
Bad Ronald:

Sometimes he plays the fool.

Ah just kiddin! I stole that one from John L.
  12:25pm
no no age:

Don't forget all the bizzaro Christian music
  12:28pm
tony coulter fan:

He also has a great radio voice.
  12:28pm
gumby:

Yes, this show is spiced with the various conundrums of the human condition etched on vinyl.
  12:37pm
GP:

Tony,
2 questions: How do you get the records back in one piece after the apes of our wonderful Homeland Insecurity have tossed your bag around their cages? and, what kind of turntable do you use at home to preview all of these wonderful records?
  12:42pm
Tony Coulter:

Hi Gumby,

Got the records back in two giant carry-on bags ... and I will play them on a cheapo turntable that's nothing to brag about....
  12:51pm
was clueless but now a huge fan!:

ok, i'm officially hooked like I am to Brian Turner's, fabiro and liz berg's show. all soo good yet so different. does anyone know bars in new york that has wfmu quality music playing by a jukebox or dj? my dream is to find a bar that plays a bunch of old pysch records. anyone? thanks!
  12:53pm
GP:

Must be nice..We have a few discount book stores here which will buy used books and records, there is always a ton of vinyl there, but mostly ABBA, Captain and Tenille, Stryper, etc.. Have never seen any 7" stuff.
  12:54pm
north guinea hills:

daddy's in williamsburg has a jukebox full of obscure eclectic tracks that are very wfmu-worthy.
  1:11pm
Andrew:

Tony Coulter- Messiah of the Marginalized
  1:40pm
gumby:

Tropicale Thaittii... is so wonderfully Rousseau! Whooo-hooo!
  1:42pm
Sean Daily:

Gotta do it...

"KICK OUT THE JAMS, MAH-THAH!"
  1:46pm
Bad Ronald:

Thanks for the Bonzos!!
  1:47pm
jon:

yes I do see the similarity now... I don't know how I could have missed it. Faust were really the Bonzo Dog Do Da Band!
  1:48pm
ross:

Der Plan? Faust? yer spoiling me! gotta make this a tuesday afternoon ritual....
  1:50pm
Bad Ronald:

killer set Tony
  1:51pm
jon:

and we have come full circle. back to Zappa once a gain. how could I have missed the references... Zappa was Faust was the Bonzo Dog Do Da Band!
  1:59pm
data entry:

tony or anyone...have you ever heard wazoo? it would fit in w/ these last 5 songs perfectly
  2:00pm
jon:

ASOCJACJA.... wow loved that!
  2:09pm
GP:

Best use of "WItch Doctor" sample I have heard today.
  2:11pm
Bad Ronald:

hey that's a B. Kliban quote! "You Walrus..."
  2:17pm
Parq:

Just rejoining post-lunch. "You Walrus Hurt the One You Love"??
  2:19pm
Bad Ronald:

Yup
  2:22pm
Sean Daily:

Loving Nurse with Wound, Tony.
  2:24pm
Bad Ronald:

Tee Hee - VAS DEFERENS!!!
  2:25pm
shannon:

THANK YOU WFMU for always wonderful and experimental radio!!
  2:27pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Bad Ronald, there's nothing funny about the vas deferens. The sphincter, however, is another story.
  2:27pm
snake:

Yeah Tony music this good makes it hard to go back to work!!!!!!!
  2:28pm
Parq:

Q: Use "vas deferens" in a sentence.

A: "I vas luking fur de coffee shop, and I 'tot I found it, but it vas deferens."
  2:31pm
R. P.:

I'd just like to take this opportunity to say:
* Never buy headphones from Radio Shack
* Never buy Koss
* There are some things that not even duct tape can fix
  2:34pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Heretic!
  2:35pm
Bad Ronald:

DCE - I beg to vasa deferentia!
  2:36pm
GP:

RP, too correct about the Koss. The genuine imatation leather coating on my ear cups is shedding like crazy. Every time I wear them it looks like I have a MAJOR case of some kind of alien black dandruff that surrounds my ears.
  2:38pm
Lady Rachael:

This show makes me want to do something with my life
  2:39pm
R. P.:

The volume switch in the cord kept shorting out. Finally, resorting to banging said switch against my desk to get sound back to the left earpiece, I found how cheap these things really are...
  2:44pm
jon:

there's something real sinister about this Sterling Basement.. basements should not be sterling.
  2:46pm
gumby:

DON'T DO IT LADY RACHAEL!! "Something" is time consuming and takes effort.
  2:48pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

yeah, I think the resumes of WFMU listeners might be kind of short!
  2:52pm
GP:

To you Bad Ronald:
http://www.instantrimshot.com/
for that last Vas Deferens comment.
  2:53pm
gumby:

At least FMUers make the effort to find something other than Plastic Rock or the vocal gymnastics of present day R&B to auraly digest. (There I go getting all Barry Bondsish again, dopey & full of myself)
  2:54pm
Bad Ronald:

Tx GP
  2:55pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I personally spend WAY too much time listening to the radio...probably should be thinking more about my future. Aw crap.
  2:57pm
Ike:

Future? What's that? You mean like in science fiction?

This show is made of awesome.
  2:58pm
Bad Ronald:

That's right - We all implode tomorrow.
  3:00pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Oh yeah I read that. Can't wait. Gonna drink tonight then.
  3:01pm
Bad Ronald:

Cheers!!!
  10:35am
John Davison:

According to the Saboten website, the first Saboten LP was indeed called _Floor_. See here: http://www.saboten.biz/albam-list.html
