good morning hatch, i am peep. at nine months old i may be your youngest fan. i like to clap when you play a good tune
  9:06am
good dem:

hatch please no freaking about Palin. be a man and stay calm
  9:08am
Parq:

Hmm. If a contrary view might be permitted, I for one have been looking forward all week to hearing Hatch tear Vice President Barbie a new one.
  9:08am
Hatch:

Good mornin' little Peep.
  9:09am
Hatch:

Mr. or Mrs. Good Dem, don't worry. I am so over Sarah Palin, she's out with yesterday's garbage.
  9:11am
Hatch:

Parq, I consider that an insult to Barbie.

stephon marbury:

Why does green mean that's the color green? Why can't you say another word for green being green? Know what I'm saying?
  9:29am
Hatch:

Not really, no.
  9:30am
stephon:

f your mind can transform thoughts to create rockets to go into space, who is to say if an Ark was built? Like, if you could build spaceships to go from off this ground, to go up into the sky, and go land on the moon — you're saying, these things can't happen? So everything gets challenged, you understand what I'm saying?
  9:30am
bones:

Hey from australia. Love Jubilee. You guys could have your own Thatcher in Palin (!)
  9:31am
The Good Doctor:

Thanks for the Suzi
  9:31am
Kermit the Frog:

It's not easy being green.
  9:33am
Hatch:

Sounds like Stephon may be indulging in something green, sweet, and sticky.
  9:34am

Joy Division.......cool

Morning to Hatch and everyone
  9:34am
Bad Ronald:

Mmmmm Sticky Icky!!!
  9:35am
stephon:

If I didn’t play the way how I played, I wouldn’t have gotten no max contract. They can talk about whatever they wanna talk about me, because I got maxed. I’m a max player. Don’t get mad at me, because I’m telling you what’s real. One plus one is two, all day long, and it’s never gonna change. And that’s factorial!
  9:36am
gumby:

Good mornin' everyone! Thanks to whoever said they were reading Mondo Exotica. Mrs. Gumby gave it to me for my birthday, looks good.

I bring a different type of presence when I'm penetrating.

<You guys could have your own Thatcher in Palin (!) >
G'day bones. I don't think the British would have elected Thatcher if they thought she was a raving lunatic.
Only in the USA? ..... Let's see.
  9:42am
Hatch:

Sarah Palin is no Margaret Thatcher. Yes, they both have vaginas (I think).
  9:45am
Bad Ronald:

Boobs too?

It would be cool if Palin started speaking in tongues during interviews...
  9:47am
bones:

they're totally different, but social decline is on the dinner plate
  9:48am
Oi Mr:

palin's upper lip bothers me - it's the wrong way round for a flautist.
  9:59am
Manc Lion:

Can't believe "Control" nearly made you hate Joy Division. I thought it was a capably done documentary. Anton Corbijn is the director you're talking about. He directed the video for Joy Division's "Atmosphere". As to the Doors comment, Ian always sounded a bit like Jim Morrison, it was as much a part of his influence as glam and Velvet Underground.
  10:00am
Parq:

Palin as Thatcher -- cancha just see it? "The Iron Bratz Doll." (H told me to lay off Barbie.)
  10:03am
stingy d:

i hated "control" but to take a positive view, i did think it was the best biopic ive ever seen. that is of course saying next to nothing.
  10:05am
lets go fishing!:

i cant wait!!!
  10:05am
Manc Lion:

Yeah, it's more of a biopic or docudrama than a proper documentary.
  10:07am
stingy d:

did you hear about the dion warwick biopic?

samuel l jackson is playing the lead.
  10:08am
Pamela:

Hatch-real fishing question. Do you think it's better for the fish to use a lure with a single hook or one with the three hooks? I just was fishing for a week in Maine and just started wondering about that - I always thought three was bad since it's more hooks and harder to get out, but maybe it's better because it reduces the pressure? I started feeling bad for the fish I was catching...
  10:09am
Bad Ronald:

"Get on your knees"?
  10:09am
GP:

Man, I need to get out more ( or on Netflix more) the last biopic I saw was that one about Mettalica..I think it was called "Some Kind of Monster" or something like that.

funny Stingy D, funny
  10:10am
Hatch:

Pamela, here's my wise advice:

If you feel bad for the fish, don't go fishing.
  10:11am
Hatch:

The Metallica documentary (not a biopic) is a work of genius.
  10:13am
freddie:

but the cinematography in Control was so beautiful! anyone who can make a good black and white is alright in my book. Corbijn did a lot of popular 80s and 90s music videos- "Heart Shaped Box," along with a bunch of Echo and the Bunnymen and Depeche Mode.
  10:13am
Concerned Citizen:

Pamela, three hooks is called a treble hook and is banned in many areas. Rangers on the Delaware River will pull you over under the premise that they are seeing if you are fishing with treble hooks, then diverge into other forms of entrapment and you wind up with a $300 fine for possesion of controlled substances and gots no smokables for your river float. Bastards!!!
  10:14am
GP:

Hatch, my favorite scene is when they offered their new bass player one million dollars as a "base" salary"...he looked like he just won the lottery..which in a way he did.
  10:19am
stingy d:

biopics lack integrity, straight off
  10:20am
Pamela:

Hatch, I don't feel THAT bad. And poor Concerned Citizen... damn that sucks. But that gives me info - if they are banned, there's gotta be a reason.
  10:21am
Parks and Wildlife Dept:

I smell burning rope from somewhere.
Attention Concerned Citizen, what is that you are smoking there, didn't we warn you the last time!
  10:23am
?:

is it possible to turn down the music bed a tiny bit so we can hear what john is saying? thanks!
  10:23am
gumby:

The other day they had a documentary on American Masters about Audobon. Turns out he killed thousands of birds and then stuffed and posed them to paint all those life like scenes. It also turns out I guess he was kind of kooky and a failed bussinessman.

Dang...I thought he (Audobon) just was a fast painter.!
  10:28am
Concerned Citizen:

Thats what they did, scoped us with the binocs enjoying mother herb, pulled us over on some false pretense of illegal fishing gear then paid for the gas, salaries and equipment for the day, while making a spectacle of us along the river bank for no reason other than to justify their salaries. Damn narcs!!!
  10:29am
north guinea hills:

the only tracks i've ever come across from the groop was from the "midnight cowboy" soundtrack. curious, i would love to find an album of theirs (on vinyl)
  10:32am

i am increasingly distubred by the idea that obama is gonna lose. am i off base? i just dont see it. did anyone hear about the voter wipe outs in a lot of swing states?

it don't matter 'bout the election. they're blowing up the world in Switzerland tomorrow
  10:37am
gumby:

So bones, I should plan on taking the day off?
  10:37am
stingy d:

oh. ok then. i can dig it.
  10:37am
GP:

Ah yes the Lage Hadron Collider...man that name is ripe for so many fruedian typos....Once they turn it on they really don't know what will happen.
  10:38am
GP:

Should have been "LARGE" Hadron

typos started already
  10:39am
bones:

yeah may as well gumby. u don't wanna get sucked into a black hole w/ your coworkers
  10:40am
Parq:

Gum, maybe not, but you should definitely hold off paying that guy down the other end of the cubicle farm the five dollars you owe him.
  10:41am
Dickdong:

<they're blowing up the world>
We are to be imploded not exploded. It means we'll all be a lot closer together, so don't scream - whisper.
  10:41am
Parq:

And GP, that's not the typo that everyone's worried about.
  10:41am
Hatch:

Don't worry, Stingy. McCain's caught up or slightly passed on the national polls, but it's a temporary post-convention bounce. And all the new state polls still show tight races in lots of states that Bush won easily in 2004. Obama definitely has the upper hand.
  10:42am
gumby:

It's tuned, you can play something now.
  10:43am
GP:

10-4 on that Parq

Gumby...<tea spews out of nose>..thanks for the laugh.
  10:43am
bones:

RDRR.. that old chestnut
  10:44am
dc pat:

I still think the crazy lady factor with Palin will explode soon. Have you all seen the list of books she tried to ban while Mayor?? She also use to be a snake-handler.
  10:46am
Hatch:

Pat, the book list is fake. But yeah, she is inevitably going to crash and burn eventually.
  10:46am
gumby:

Just trying to lighten it up. If the world's gonna end and I'm gonna get slammed into my cubemates, I think I'll ask if I can move next to the pretty little thing over there.
  10:46am
dc pat:

How do you know it's fake? I thought it looked too good to be true.
  10:50am
Hatch:

http://www.snopes.com/politics/palin/bannedbooks.asp
  10:51am
stingy d:

i took the day off. so i should buy a ton of coke and go to this model bar! and totally watch the world ending in her eyes.
  10:52am
Bad Ronald:

I'm going wilding!
  10:52am
GP:

Stingy thats way too much sugar for you to drink in one sitting..should have gotten diet.
  10:53am
dc pat:

yeah just saw that--should have been tipped off by the Harry Potter books which hadn't even been published yet...duh.
  10:53am
bones:

off to bed now.. it's 1am in Sydney. if i die before i wake...
  10:54am
stingy d:

she banned the dictionary! what a fruitcake!

gp - i guess youre right. i'll go the model bar with an ounce of coke instead.
  10:56am
GP:

Ah Snopes what would we do without you? Sometimes it is more fun to believe the urban legends though
  10:57am
Parq:

As long as we're circulating false rumors about Herself, I like these:

http://www.snopes.com/politics/palin/newsquotes.asp
  10:58am
stingy d:

or a can of coke.

a la the dario argento classy classic "demons"
  11:01am
stingy d:

anyway - coke is gay

what kind of cereal should i go get?
  11:02am
jojo:

You've got to feel a little sorry for them, old feeling scared men making ponds and refuges to raise and kill animals in a striving to feel man-like...Hey wait a minute, how different is that than our country? Those crusty old bastards!! If only we could stop the poor folks from worshipping rich people and living for the day that they too can drive a BMW and drive like a humanity hating republican, figurative and literally
  11:05am
Matt:

Hey Hatch, great show.
What's that intro/outro song you always play?
Thanks!
  11:05am
GP:

Count Chocula...closet thing to zombie cereal that I can think of, cause them zombs is goin to want to eat once the time-space continuem gets all warped up and sh*t over there in Switzerland.
  11:07am
stingy d:

do they still make that?

driller killer!
  11:08am
longbump:

scariest movie ever? SECONDS
  11:09am
dc pat:

I like the old scary movies. You know, the ones that aren't scary at all?
  11:10am
Lang:

Hey Hatchling
Last night we watched the Otto Preminger film BUNNY LAKE IS MISSING, which was not horror but very creepy and for no discernable reason had the Zombies featured in it- have you seen it?
  11:11am
Parq:

Following up on Pat's comment, "The Bride of Frankenstein" is one of the most wonderfully bizare movies I've ever seen - a true black comedy (no offense to Chris Rush).
  11:11am
Hatch:

Yes, I looooooooove that movie.
  11:11am
gumby:

I don't know about the best movie, but the best movie review ever was, "ISHTAR ISHTERRIBLE"
  11:12am
Bad Ronald:

I think Frankenberry is more zombie-like than the count.
  11:13am
clem:

not too obscure, but good... "Deathdream"
  11:13am
stingy d:

i LOVE cereal.
i think frankenberry is no-more as well.
  11:13am
scott:

Silent Night Deadly Night: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088117/
  11:14am
gumby:

BR - Whose cooler Quake or Quisp?
  11:14am
clem:

Deranged
  11:15am
Hatch:

Deathdream I've seen. Not my favorite, not by a long shot.
  11:15am
GP:

Bad Ronald, I stand corrected. Also a more flavorful choice too! Totally forgot about F-Berry.

My brother in law said "The Ring" was the scariest movie he ever saw ( have not seen it yet , I know..I know).

Quake/Quisp say that 5 times FAST!
  11:16am
Bad Ronald:

Quisp!!
  11:18am
gumby:

When was the world supposed to end? Because it is dark as night here right now.
  11:18am
Bad Ronald:

GP - Don't forget Boo-Berry!
  11:18am
clem:

(It Came) Without Warning
  11:19am
Hatch:

Deranged looks pretty sweet! Doesn't seem to be available from Netflix unfortunately...
  11:22am
dc pat:

not obscure but I always end up watching The Blob. Saw it when I was a kid and it scared the shite out of me.
  11:23am
clem:

Deranged is good - it's (just like many others) based on Ed Gein, but seems to stick to 'Ed in real life' closer than most. Real creepy.
  11:24am
GP:

I like Rob Zombies stuff...but maybe it it just because he has a hot wife.

dc pat..Blob is a good one, The one movie that freaked me out when I was a kid was The Andromeda Strain, more Sci-Fi than horror
  11:24am
gumby:

Horror of Party Beach is a good one. After seeing the Blob I wouldn't walk by a ventilation grate without checking it out.
  11:28am
sander:

crystal slits song is rad. great show goin on!
  11:28am
gumby:

Attack of the Killer Shrews is great too. These German Shepards with Shag Carpets tied on to them run around an island and wreak havoc, as you can imagine.
  11:29am
Patrick:

funny you mention the rain, it just started raining here in Portland Maine....
  11:30am
sander:

i mean stilts
  11:32am
Pamela:

Patrick, you're so lucky to live there! Or do you not think so?
  11:32am
Bad Ronald:

attack of the 50 foot woman
  11:32am
Pamela:

Movie: Oh, there's Killer Clowns from Outer Space
  11:33am
freddie:

  11:33am
Hatch:

Never met anyone from Portland, Maine, that I didn't like.
  11:33am
Bad Ronald:

Nice one Pamela!
  11:34am
clem:

hey I live outside of Portland ME - love it.
  11:34am
jim:

  11:35am
patrick:

well im from NJ originally, i moved to maine about 7 years ago...
  11:37am
Crash:

How 'bout Jodorowsky's Santa Sangre, Dellamorte Dellamore (aka Cemetary Man) ?
  11:39am
Bad Ronald:

"Basket Case"
  11:40am
Patrick:

pamela, i like it just fine, i do however miss the things that only NYC/NJ has to offer, like contemporary art, Chinese food, real pizza, cultural diversity, smoking in bars.... maybe not that last one. can you still smoke in a bar in NJ?

the fanatical red sox and patriots fans i can do without, but other wise its a great place to live.
  11:41am
clem:

moved to ME three short months ago from out west.
just to be closer to WFMU!
Oh... what about "Don't be afraid of the dark".
It's hard to find.
  11:43am
Hatch:

Cemetery Man and Basket Case are definitely the kinda horror films I'm into. The ultra-campy 50s and 60s stuff, not so much.
  11:44am
kwhitehead:

"ravenous" is a great creepy movie. It straddles the line between camp and art nicely.
  11:45am
gumby:

For $30 or $40 you can get 50 Sci-Fi Classics (or something like that) from your favorite on-line shop emporium and it has some wonderfully awful movies from the 30's to the 70's. This one is so cheap they put four people in a room and this folding lawn chair drives them nuts. It has a Gamara one, an Amazon Women one and about 6 Hercules ones. Me and Junior Gumby #2 will often enjoy a Friday evening of 70 minutes of wasted celluloid. Basket Case!!!!! I dig that movie.
  11:45am
fishmonkeystew:

Here's another vote for the Reflecting Skin, though it's more of a psychological mind bender than a horror. Very twisted.
  11:45am
Sean Daily:

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!
  11:48am
gumby:

Smoking is verboten in all public spaces in NJ. I find it one of the best moves The Man ever made.
  11:48am
stingy d:

nah sean
you got it actually.
look up
  11:50am
Bad Ronald:

Yeah Sean you're losing it unless you gots yerself a doppleganger...

SOB=Funky time

KMD!!!!
  11:56am
St.Even:

STREET TRASH!!<----best movie ever
  11:56am
GP:

Any of the Troma films are great. Not real scary, but man what low budget effects they had.
  11:59am
GP:

http://www.herobuilders.com/08.htm
Just see for yourselves
( Although, wish I though of this..sigh...)
  11:59am
St.Even:

Street Trash was not a troma film although JIm Muro and Roy Frumkes used to be friends with Lloyd Kaufman. They had a huge disagreement and Lloyd went on to make toxic avenger.
  12:00pm
Pamela:

Well, I"m a NJ / RI hybrid, so I like both...
