Hi Diane!

Thu. 9/4/08 3:33pm From: Sean Daily

Diane, is it me, or is WFMU giving out flash flood warnings in New Jersey every other day?

Thu. 9/4/08 3:41pm From: Laurie

Sean, my crazy neighbor would tell you it's because the end times are coming and Obama is in cahoots with the antichrist and will do his damnedest to make sure an African Pope gets into... office? Popedom? Whatever. She's nuts and racist. I never knew so many Latinos were practicing 7th Day Adventist Church of Craziness.

Thu. 9/4/08 3:42pm From: Laurie

Also, I think she trashed my Obama lawn sign and stole my Obama bumper sticker right off my car. :'(

Thu. 9/4/08 3:43pm From: ?

tuning out. this is aweful.

Thu. 9/4/08 3:43pm From: gumby

Left channel - check.
Right channel - check.
Death by flooding - check.
Next time fire.

Thu. 9/4/08 3:47pm From: Sean Daily

I don't know, Laurie, but it's gotten to the point that even Snopes.com has had to weigh in on the issue.

They're calling bullshit on the Obama-is-the-antichrist thing, BTW.

Hie larry us.

Thu. 9/4/08 3:50pm From: Laurie

Oh god, is it seriously that widespread? HAAAAAAAATE.

I have one word: GOOOOOOOOOObama.

Thu. 9/4/08 3:54pm From: Sean Daily

Lovin' the grind on this Wire track, Diane.

Thu. 9/4/08 4:00pm From: Laurie

Oh man, Sean, I just read that. It matches exactly what my nutty neighbor had to say, including that Nostradamus horse pucky. :(

Thu. 9/4/08 4:02pm From: Parq

Then it's war . . .

Thu. 9/4/08 4:06pm From: Trippy McTripperson

Like Whoa dude

Thu. 9/4/08 4:11pm From: Mr Cool

Play some Sabbath dude,

Thu. 9/4/08 4:15pm From: Sean Daily

There's a reason they call elections Silly Season, Laurie. Hopefully people calm down after November 4. People are getting whipped up, and I can truly see people taking up arms no matter how it turns out. The lunatic fringe has taken over the mainstream in both parties.

Thu. 9/4/08 4:16pm From: Parq

As of 12:45 today, Other Music still had a fairly goodly supply of Wire tickets left.

Thu. 9/4/08 4:17pm From: Mr Cool

Am I the only person who thinks that the country is on a permanent decline?

Thu. 9/4/08 4:21pm From: Swami

No Mr. Cool. People have been thinking that for 234 years.

Thu. 9/4/08 4:23pm From: Mr Cool

Just a SNAFU then...?

Thu. 9/4/08 4:34pm From: Sean Daily

The U. S. ain't what it used to be, Mr. Cool. But it can be turned around. Problem is, people are too wrapped up in BS like abortion, creationism and living a "green" lifestyle without being inconvenienced. (I'm one of them) It's gonna take work, but the people and their energies too dispersed for that right now.

Thu. 9/4/08 4:39pm From: Mr Cool

I hate to say it, but a major recession or depression might be helpful. It will at least get people's focus off of the BS.

One thing I think is absolutely necessary is for people to get over the "We Are a Superpower" mentality. It's going to bankrupt the country.

Thu. 9/4/08 4:39pm From: GP

Diane thanks for this Melvins song.

Sean D....preach it brother...totally agree, it is WAY too easy to be distracted from what really is bringing this country down when one is focused on the things that seem to matter, but are really just smokescreens to keep us in the dark about our REAL problems

Thu. 9/4/08 4:56pm From: JC Mike

There's 2 newly released Battle of Mice tracks from a split they did w/ Jesu if you wanna give us our Julie XMas fix that way...

Thu. 9/4/08 4:57pm From: GP

Bye all...until tomorrow..have a great afternoon

Thu. 9/4/08 5:03pm From: JC Mike

We all love Carcass but when I saw them in '94 they were lame & actually chastised the crowd for requesting older material. Also they're presently touring w/out their original drummer who was too good for words.

Thu. 9/4/08 5:07pm From: Sean Daily

Mr. Cool, the last thing we want is a major, pervasive depression. People don't think right when they have to stand in line three hours for a soup kitchen and haven't eaten for three days. Remember, that's a big reason why a fringe lunatic like Hitler rose to power in Germany's Weimar Republic, and that's a big reason why people listened to him.

Thu. 9/4/08 5:47pm From: Qfwfq

Just have to say, this afternoon's playlist is fucking awesome. Thank you.

Fri. 9/5/08 1:51pm From: Keith

Yes, listening on the archives at work and this set is pretty amazing. I'm turning it up, will probably get fired, and it would be worth it.
