  12:09pm
phil:

  12:30pm
Carmichael:

  12:32pm
Bad Ronald:

  12:33pm
Carmichael:

Wahoo! Monica's buying!
  12:34pm
Jesse:

wasn't that I wanna be sedated?
  12:35pm
phil:

Does Monica drink Mojito's, just wonderin'?!?!?
  12:36pm
monica:

  12:39pm
ronnie:

man, that track off fabio's premium has made me ravenous for my marathon swag! when o when will i be satiated...
  12:41pm
Jeff M:

And here I thought I was the only one being forgotten. My girlfriend got a package in the mail a couple of weeks ago, so I guess progress must be being made.
  12:45pm
Bad Ronald:

Frozen margaritas no salt - Monica you rule - I had a couple at the Sombrero Friday night myself...
  12:48pm
Carmichael:

If you can make it out to California, Monica, I'd be glad to hoist a flagon or two with ya on my dime.

Aaah, what the heck? Same goes for all of yous!
  12:51pm
monica:

jeff m, my secret's out! and hety, ronnie & j - pls. feel free to check in with joe mcgasko re: yr swag. he's a good egg.
  12:54pm
Jeff M:

Hey, yaay! A few years ago, I had trouble finding the Nutley Brass's "Ramones Songbook" album -- all that was easy to get was Fiend Club Lounge. But now the Ramones Songbook is right there on Amazon. I'm gonna get me one.

As for the margaritas -- I make some darned tasty ones, just ask Ken. But I just don't believe in the frozen thing. Ice-cold, yes, but over rocks.
  12:57pm
Carmichael:

NANCY!! LEE!! YESSSS!!!!
  12:59pm
Parq:

Miss Monica! Tuned in just in time to hear the hula, digging Lee 'n' Nancy now. You're just the antidote for my back-to-work re-entry stress.
  12:59pm
phil:

Hah, nice pick, Summer Wine, haven't heard that one in ages. RIP Lee
  1:01pm
Carmichael:

The Ramones with the Longines Symphonette?!?
  1:03pm
Jeff M:

I love the genre-names people come up with (even though for the purist they're probably as annoying as the neighborhood names real estate agents come up with) -- but I see Lee Hazlewood associated with "Cowboy Psychedelia" or "Saccharine Underground", both of which are kind of cool phrases. I remember seeing "Cowpunk" used for The Beat Farmers...
  1:10pm
?:

Yeah, i never really took to all those genre labels, i got enough problems keeping my collection in A-Z order ya know.

Mmm, now where did that pitcher go?!?!?
  1:11pm
Greg from Detroit:

Monica, this show is awesome! I'm ready for you to be back on the regular schedule.
  1:20pm
gumby:

I too am an unfan of all the niche digger labels assigned to music these days. That's why I like FMU they leap from Carousel band music to avante hillbillie jazz. Er, did I just genreflect there? I apologize to all.
  1:24pm
Carmichael:

Whenever I hear the Three Suns, I have a strange desire to rollerskate.
  1:26pm
monica:

hi carmichael ~ party at your place??? we're ALL comin. get out ye olde blender and load up on limes..
  1:28pm
chadsey:

yo jeff from my vague recollection of that evening, i think it was more like bring mama 10 chardon-hheeeyyyyy's. miss MO and i were definitely feeling not-a-thing.
(contemplates mischief) let's aviate.
  1:28pm
Jeff M:

Yah, I remember I was at the Record Fair a few years back, and had found some really miscellaneous cool stuff I wanted to hear (a Tom Jones record I'd never seen before, something by Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers, Dylan Thomas declaiming some of his poetry) and a friend-of-a-friend who fancied himself a "serious collector" informed me kind of dismissively that I could be a proper record collector if I'd only manage to concentrate on a single genre...
  1:30pm
Ike:

Phil, "mojitos" does not have an apostrophe! You have angered the apostrophe gods. And the mojito gods. Watch out: Angry flying apostrophes and feral 160-proof mojitos may swarm and attack you at any moment. It may sound fun, but getting the glass shards out is difficult.

I'm not even sure how to parse "chardonhhheeeyyyyys" but I doubt the apostrophe could be correct. But I love "genreflect."
  1:31pm
Jeff M:

I've got lemons *and* limes. They'll go bad if I don't turn 'em into drinks soon. A little after three? Bring that radio lady, and we'll all listen to Ken and giggle.
  1:36pm
Carmichael:

OK, well I'm in for it now, I guess. From what I'm reading, you guys are party SAVAGES! Just don't trash the place.

Tiome to re-wire the Waring ....
  1:38pm
phil:

Geeze Louise, now i'm ticking off the gods of punctuation, oh well..tell Sweet Sjofn the Spellcheker the next round is on me, i'll even buy her something with an umbrella in it!
  1:39pm
Jeff M:

(Er, that last was aimed at Chad -- the Aviation is a tasty refreshing cherry-tinged lemon-and-gin drink, which I think he was invoking.)
  1:40pm
gumby:

Ike, does coming up with a funny word allow me to abuse a little apostrophe now?
  1:42pm
Jeff M:

If you ever see this expression:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/9207396@N03/1085421258/

...you know there's trouble a-brewin'. Just saying.
  1:42pm
gumby:

If the word apostrophe had an apostroph'e that would be cool, wouldn't it? It would be so French or something.
  1:43pm
chadsey:

jeff, down for this afternoon? say about 5? i might even be able to round up slack and his homemade raspberry gin.
  1:44pm
M V C:

One thing your going to have to be aware of: the *entire internet* is an affront to the apostrophe God's.
  1:46pm
monica:

A little known, but not surprising fact aqbout the WFMU staff: there is a disproportiately HIGH number of copy editors up in this piece!!! Spellcheck THIS!!
  1:47pm
Jeff M:

Oh, there goes the afternoon. The Jersey City Bomber and his raspberry infusion of confusion?

Gee, is it rude to monopolize Monica's playlist for party planning?
  1:48pm
efd:

[is partying in the sunshine]
  1:49pm
Sean Daily:

Listening to "Sunshine, Partytime", I'm reminded of all the reasons I hate disco.
  1:49pm
efd:

well, actually, i'm at work looking at the sunshine from my office window.
  1:50pm
Jeff M:

Sean-- Don't challenge her!
  1:50pm
doron:

so great to hear this song!
  1:54pm
chadsey:

jeff your're right, now we've got a sorry on our soiree for forgetting to ask MO. MO, you joining the mens this afternoon?
  1:55pm
Sean Daily:

I must, Jeff M. It is... my destiny.

(No it's not!)

It's NOT? Well, hell with it, then.
  1:58pm
monica:

hey folks ~ party plan away!! efd, chadsey, doron, sean d, m, gumbey - come AWN in! r.i.p. arthur weinstein, btw...
  2:08pm
gumby:

Aaaaandy! What is it Aunt Bee. Andy, You cut out that holerin' right now!
  2:08pm
phil:

Wow, i can't really see Aunt Bee approving of that type of singing in the house. (but i bet Otis dug it something fierce!)
  2:15pm
Swami:

Hell-a good show today. (Or s that "Heck-a"?)
And if Mrs. Mojito wants to let Monica have a drink of an articulated beverage, so be it.
  2:18pm
Jeff M:

Okay, we've got Chad, maybe Slack... Doron, Monica, y'all coming? Just a few blocks from that funny little radio station. Margaritas, Aerodromes, and Ken over the horn speakers.
  2:22pm
tyler:

why so little info online about Mag and the Suspects? can you give us the scoop?
  2:24pm
sugarwolf:

ewww, gin.

Monica, loved the Charo you played the other day. Soooo bummed I missed her performances a few years ago at the Dutchess Co Fair
  2:27pm
Charo:

Gin makes me feel all gutchy, gutchy!
  2:32pm
Randy in NC:

Hurrahs was one of my favorite clubs.
  2:38pm
Jeff M:

Had a friend whose sincerely raw little rock combo often appeared at the Continental. What are these jams, and why must they so often be kicked out?
  2:42pm
Jeff M:

Gin is Good. One of the problems with Kids Today is that they're afraid of gin (or indeed, often of anything but vodka.) Buncha soulless vodka vampires you see at parties so often now. Botanicals, man, botanicals!
  2:44pm
chadsey:

sloe & low, that is the tempo
  2:48pm
gumby:

What's the word?
Thunderbird!!!
  2:48pm
sugarwolf:

the only time I ever threw up from drinking was after drinking gin.

mother's ruin indeed
  2:52pm
RSM!:

Hey you kid! Old RSM! Tune in! Sigh!
  2:56pm
monica:

hey RSM!!! Met a bunch o yo fans the other day - Ariel Pink & crew...
Big shout out to everyone who tuned in today - may the margs flow freely for evermore. Who's doin' the guac? Mwah!! Monica
