Sun. 7/27/08 10:07pm Nikola:

How I love this night.

Sun. 7/27/08 10:16pm ranjit:

listening from providence -- hooray for internet!

i like the little squeaky bits hiding in the fabriek.

Sun. 7/27/08 10:18pm ranjit:

oops - i mean the ones hiding in the radiolaria.

Sun. 7/27/08 10:25pm Ken (no, not that Ken):

"...oh the dreadful wind and the rain..."

Creepy and beautiful, like a runied farmhouse... or marble gravestones with the text worn away by time.

Somehow a similar feel to the far brassier "Minstrel Boy" on Joe Strummer's last album. Also the last piece on the album, also stepped in musical near-prehistory.

Anyway, enough pontificating, back to listening.

Sun. 7/27/08 10:36pm FJ Torres:

La Chambre Blanche -Souds like a Cocteau movie!

Sun. 7/27/08 10:40pm ranjit:

also sounds like a french Robert Ashley (or vice-versa?)

Sun. 7/27/08 11:11pm Ryan:

A certain Mr. Charles Ives also had a String Quartet no. 2 around 1916! I was lucky enough to have heard the Takacs Quartet do the complete Bartok string quartets cycle back in Ann Arbor on a horribly snowy day. Pure bliss.

Sun. 7/27/08 11:22pm drew:

Bethany, your show tonight has been amazing! The Bartok 2nd is my fave of the 6.....thanks!

Sun. 7/27/08 11:24pm FJ Torres:

You can hear bits J Williams lifted for the night pursuit sequence in Close Encounters...

Mon. 7/28/08 4:58pm Anda:

Hello, Bethany! Where did you get the Latvian stuff from? The name of the group means Little Stinky Sticks:)

Anda from Riga, Latvia
