my apologies for perhaps a dullard of a question. I am brand new to this station- is the last song played listed at the top or the bottom? I was struck by the last song (genre: ska singer: female). Is it fleet foxes or band of mercy...?

Mon. 7/21/08 9:53am From: bw

new songs are at the bottom

fleet foxes wish they sounded like that!
there were 2 man and woman songs
suffering stink was the one from the Trojan revive box set
and the topless was the amazing rolls royce and the wheels

Mon. 7/21/08 10:01am From: Dan

Yeah I don't get Fleet Foxes.

Mon. 7/21/08 10:01am From: jeanine

great show bw.. I've been on a road trip vacation for two weeks and as it turns out, satellite radio blows and they play the same songs over and over again, who would have thought? It's bad to be back at work, but good to be listening to WFMU again!

Mon. 7/21/08 10:05am From: Neil

This has to be the only song with both the phrases "mosh pit" and "what not."

Mon. 7/21/08 10:08am From: melty

i'm finding it hard to stay away from the comic long enough that it actually reads like a comic..adorably disheartening

Mon. 7/21/08 10:12am From: spaniel

the safety pin stuck in my heart song is cool. i really like the guitar on the Patrick Fitzgerald version.

Mon. 7/21/08 10:14am From: welty

i have a clutchy hopkins stuck in my heart

Mon. 7/21/08 10:18am From: north guinea hills

Mon. 7/21/08 10:21am From: Cass

you have a great selection fire warden. i'm enjoying!

Mon. 7/21/08 10:24am From: spaniel

i wonder how much the distraction caused by your playlist is costing our economy. Can I send fmu a bill for my lost productivity?

Mon. 7/21/08 10:26am From: C

At first I liked Pecan Sandy. Now she's starting to piss me off.

Mon. 7/21/08 10:34am From: ange

fire!!

Mon. 7/21/08 10:34am From: Bad Ronald

Agreed but I think she's a he...

Mon. 7/21/08 10:42am From: C

Oh, it's a he? I'm pretty sure Bronson would have a problem with him too.

Mon. 7/21/08 10:43am From: bw

bronson would def waste sandy

Mon. 7/21/08 10:48am From: GW

Sandy reminds me of a passive aggressive Spongebob, maybe just cause he is yellow...regardless that is one messed up cookie.

Mon. 7/21/08 10:50am From: jeanine

is it weird that sandy reminds me of an ex-boyfriend?

Mon. 7/21/08 10:52am From: Bad Ronald

Guilty - Hang him high!

Mon. 7/21/08 10:59am From: north guinea hills

this edith frost track is seriously depressing...

Mon. 7/21/08 11:00am From: N'Lo

jeanine - sandy reminds me of my CURRENT boyfriend. WOE is he! Benjamin - brilliant use of yr playlist piccies! thoroughly enjoying!

Mon. 7/21/08 11:02am From: youngun

pecan sandy- at this point- is the criminal dandy - Jean Genet style- naughty, dangerous, fey. Not so much a little heterosexual tool for pecan empire. you know, revolutionary laziness.

Mon. 7/21/08 11:02am From: GW

That JJ Johanson track was TOTALLY appropriate for that particular Sandy panel..great choice.

Mon. 7/21/08 11:02am From: Cass

DIE Peacan Sandy DIE

Mon. 7/21/08 11:03am From: jeanine

N'Lo.. dump him! The whining will only increase, and when he burns down your house he'll blame the matches!

Mon. 7/21/08 11:08am From: Ike

N'Lo, if he's really that bad, then ummmmm, you should go out with me instead. Yeah, that's the ticket. Wait, are you male or female?

Mon. 7/21/08 11:12am From: bob

that is one angry green cookie with wings.

Mon. 7/21/08 11:12am From: N'Lo

I'm a cookie! We have no gender! (well, except for the Petit Ecolier, and maybe Lorna Doone)

Mon. 7/21/08 11:13am From: mmerck

austin present...math is hard

Mon. 7/21/08 11:13am From: Ike

Yummy.

Mon. 7/21/08 11:26am From: sugarwolf

chapi chapo!!! I watched them all the time as a kid.

Mon. 7/21/08 11:29am From: harehunterfield

thanks pal, this all sounds oddly familiar. Isn't there someone in Boston that plays this stuff???

Mon. 7/21/08 11:30am From: dei xhrist

hah! I thought I recognized Bertozzi's style - he used to do the Incredible Drinking Buddies. Sure is a small planet, but then you don't do good work unless you spend years scrawling away at it. That's my excuse for obscurity.

Mon. 7/21/08 11:30am From: GW

What is going on in that last Panel..Why is Chocko-CHip in his thighty whities, and where is Mr. Peep?...wait, I thought THIS was Mr. Peep..that is even stranger...WTF!!

Mon. 7/21/08 11:32am From: R. P.

So, there is a moral to this story.

Mon. 7/21/08 11:32am From: north guinea hills

i feel like mr. peep....

Mon. 7/21/08 11:32am From: FlakeyFoont

whoa I was one of Bertozzi's students this past winter and he's the one who showed me WFMU and that's why I'm listening today! how appropriate. very nice playlist, by the way.

Mon. 7/21/08 11:36am From: BlitOnThe Stylus

Good God, "Pecan Sandy" is as American as a drive-by shooting. As are the reactions.

Pecan is the type America cannot tolerate - sort of inoffensive and reclusive, not passive aggressive at all, but simply passive. Absent-minded, too, and a little flummoxed by the practical world. Definitely the type that is useless in Corporate America and a good candidate for elimination.

After all, the U S of A the greatest f'in country on the face of the earth!! Real hard chargers! Step aside buddy!!

Oh, the the rest of the world is starting to barf a bit, I mean with the waterboarding and the 650,000 Iraqis killed, and the world-leading incarceration rate, and the homeless, and the gangs, and probably 1/3 the population without adequate health care, and a huge movement that wants to teach creationism in the schools, but what the hell....enjoy, folks!!!

Mon. 7/21/08 11:42am From: bw

thats quite an analysis! thanks for that

Mon. 7/21/08 11:42am From: molerat

This Lena Beamish is wonderfully creepy.

Mon. 7/21/08 11:46am From: Chairman Mu

No, you have it wrong. Pecan Sandy represents American culture, with it's greed and denial of responsibility. When the rest of the world consumes this culture, it finds it's own destruction.

Mon. 7/21/08 11:48am From: lint

veddy intyrestink

Mon. 7/21/08 11:52am From: kpc

What aspects of Pecan's behavior represent American culture, other than saying "I'm widdle & cute"?

Mon. 7/21/08 11:55am From: dei x

Pecan represents only those who do not successfully overcompensate for their failings. And roommates.

Mon. 7/21/08 11:57am From: Gregory @ Toronto

pecan sandy is Canadian, isn't he?

Mon. 7/21/08 1:10pm From: sebastian in santiago

pecan sandy is a transcultural arsehole.

Tue. 7/22/08 10:30am From: Adrian in London

Hey, pop-up player only lasts for an hour of this show! It cuts off in the middle of the Bronson track. Pecan Sandy seemed too troubled by ennui to live, frankly.
