Wed. 7/9/08 1:01pm Patrick in Seattle:

Goran Bregovic - the genius behind the soundtrack of Underground. Great pick. More bounce. More crazy. Oopah!

Wed. 7/9/08 1:01pm Sean Daily:

Liking this Goran Bregovic song, Maria. It this Roma music?

Wed. 7/9/08 1:02pm (mta) Tony:

Happy (upcoming) Birthday to that '70's chick! Hope July 13th will be a K.C. Sunshiny Day for you.

Wed. 7/9/08 1:04pm (mta) Tony:

Wed. 7/9/08 1:05pm Sean Daily:

GOGOL BORDELLO! YEEEEEEESSSSSSS!

Wed. 7/9/08 1:07pm Patrick in Seattle:

Sean, if you liked the Goran tune, I highly recommend you seek out the movie Underground (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114787/) - the music (Serbian) just bounces of the screen.

Wed. 7/9/08 1:11pm julie whitebread:

do you have the new Mucca Pazza record? Did anyone see them at Sound FX or McCarren Park pool last summer?

Wed. 7/9/08 1:15pm Sasa:

Sean & Patrick, forget about Goran Bregovic...
Check this out - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0aban_Bajramovi%C4%87
And ENJOY.

Wed. 7/9/08 1:18pm Sean Daily:

God, Šaban Bajramović died. That's no way for someone with his kind of voice to die.

Wed. 7/9/08 1:18pm Patrick in Seattle:

Wow, Sasa, sounds like I need to go to prison.

Wed. 7/9/08 1:20pm Sasa:

Everything for the GIRL! (haha)

Wed. 7/9/08 1:24pm Ron from Berlin:

Hey Maria! what about the Kocani Orchestar?

Nice one Maria. Thanks for that opa cupa (means hip hop) song.

Wed. 7/9/08 1:26pm toni (nis, serbia0:

'The King (saban Bajramovic) is gone.......
But he is not forgotten."
Hello from his hometown in Serbia. Thank you wonderful people on WFMU.org

Wed. 7/9/08 1:31pm Toni:

Met him in 1997, 98, organized his gig at the local music festival in 2004. . He was a gypsy version of Solomon Burke on the stage. Wrote over 700 songs. This guy Bregovic has stolen a lot of his comopsitions and never paid anything.

Wed. 7/9/08 1:34pm Sasa:

Right Toni. Greetings from Skopje, Macedonia.

Wed. 7/9/08 1:35pm Late to the show:

Maria! What pleasant surprise!

Wed. 7/9/08 1:35pm damova:

julie, saw mucca pazza at mccarren pool last summer. what a lot of fun they are! i love the way the quieter instrumentalists have speakers on their heads!

Wed. 7/9/08 1:36pm damova:

love the balkan interlude, maria!

Wed. 7/9/08 1:37pm Ron:

Wed. 7/9/08 1:39pm Lewis:

Great set!

Wed. 7/9/08 1:39pm Sasa:

Sve najbolje komsija. WFMU - moj omiljeni radio talas.

Wed. 7/9/08 1:42pm Toni:

Great music Maria! Suggest you to listen to gypsy hip hop from Balkans. Most of it was made by kids that was throw out from Germany because of their immigrant status. Lyrics are total killer. They sing about bad treatment in Germany, Serbia and other Balkan countries where they are now.

Wed. 7/9/08 1:44pm Sean Daily:

Well, Maria, at least the guy that stole that Bajramovic album had good taste.

Wed. 7/9/08 1:45pm damova:

toni, can you suggest some artists (gypsy hiphop)? hvala!

Wed. 7/9/08 1:48pm Sister Hairy Hymen:

Love the Klezmer.

Wed. 7/9/08 1:50pm Toni:

Sean, that guy (Goran Bregovic) was and still is some sort of 'The People Artist sposnsored by Goverment'. Always near to the communist rulers in former Yugoslavia, and behind Slobodan Milosevic Ministry of Culture that has covered his project. Nothing is real, and good in that. You better should listen to the old records of Saban. Total enlightment. Belive me.

Wed. 7/9/08 1:51pm Toni:

Damova, Mystic MC. You can find it on YouTube

Wed. 7/9/08 2:09pm dc pat:

Godley & Creme: jeZUS this song is wild..

Wed. 7/9/08 2:12pm Harvey:

Wed. 7/9/08 2:50pm north guinea hills:

Wed. 7/9/08 2:54pm Maria:

I Luuuuuvs the Pop Musique!!

Wed. 7/9/08 2:56pm Drew:

Play something power poppy.

Wed. 7/9/08 2:59pm Parq:

Ooh, Hall and Oates Day! (see Ken's PL & comments thereto) And they never got better than "She's Gone".

Wed. 7/9/08 3:00pm JJZ:

I wonder what Hall and Oates song Irwin will play.

Wed. 7/9/08 3:00pm JJZ:

Or how Ken and Andy will incorporate it into their show.

Wed. 7/9/08 3:00pm Listener Dave:

I'm betting either "Kiss on my List" or some "star country" cover
