Fri. 7/4/08 8:22pm From: C

america eats its young

Fri. 7/4/08 8:29pm From: Laurie

My July 4th plans fell through because of rain. :(

BOOOO!

Fri. 7/4/08 8:29pm From: Laurie

But I have Thing with a Hook, Pseu, and WFMU!

Yay!

Fri. 7/4/08 8:33pm From: john

Ditto on both counts. Different plans, of course.

Fri. 7/4/08 8:35pm From: mary jane

Yep, am home from the excellent Feelies/SY ANd now happy to hear you , Pseu.

Fri. 7/4/08 8:35pm From: HotRod

Who needs 4th of July plans when you have Pseu and new mint rolling paper?

Fri. 7/4/08 8:37pm From: C

Wow. HotRod. Good for you. Hardest working lady at FMU today. Enjoy the mint, you definitely deserve it!

Fri. 7/4/08 8:37pm From: Laurie

Thanks C! ;)

Fri. 7/4/08 8:53pm From: pseu

hi folks -- happy fourth, don't forget to anesthetize your pets for the night.

Fri. 7/4/08 8:54pm From: Sean

Vic Chesnutt has a written a glorious song called "Independence Day"---as he sings,"I never knew it would be so symbolic."

Fri. 7/4/08 8:58pm From: Laurie

It's raining -- not many firecrackers going off, which my cats are happy about. Zowie is eating greenies, Sidney is sleeping on my bed.

Fri. 7/4/08 9:10pm From: john

My cat is wandering around semi-anxiously as if the growing noise of fireworks from surrounding towns--you can probably see five of them from my roof--were all something personal and tonight's the night they'll finally catch up with her. She prefers classical, anyway.

Fri. 7/4/08 9:13pm From: luvFeeliesSY

LIke Iggy says, I'm loose...&happy

Fri. 7/4/08 9:17pm From: bartelby

I was so completely not there and I am entirely without regret. I did take the 1 train earlier today which passes under battery park. No sunburn, no chafing, no annoying people. Also, I've been asking these same questions about the old pink Noxema shave cream. It's no longer produced and it worked the best.

Fri. 7/4/08 9:18pm From: sugarwolf

I'm getting a haircut this month. I'm going to get bangs which I haven't had for nearly twenty years.

Fri. 7/4/08 9:18pm From: Laurie

With hair as thick as ours, Pseu, we don't want to wash our hair more than three times a week. Okay, twice a week. If I'm being honest.

Let me recommend something: Aveda. I actually looked in the mirror and said, for the first time ever, "I have the best hair!"

Fri. 7/4/08 9:20pm From: bartelby

#3 buzzcut twice a year, 3-4 cakes of shaving soap and I'm golden for 365

Fri. 7/4/08 9:21pm From: Maria T

Glad to have caught your show -- am enjoying it immensely!

Fri. 7/4/08 9:22pm From: john

I had my hair cut this week. Shortest it's been in years, but it still flops down and around on the left side on the rare occasions I manage to part it just right. Not wholly sure why I felt the need to share, but there it is.

Fri. 7/4/08 9:27pm From: bartelby

An as yet non-tabulated quantity of Dr. Bronner's. Shampoo is a marketing ploy. I'll give you my account and routing number, deposit the shampoo directly into my account and I will split it with you. Don't even get me started on conditioner. I suppose if I could use it to perk up some greens besides, it might be worth it. BTW i think I saw Dianne (Diane?) Kamikaze walk past the Y in MTC yesterday.

Fri. 7/4/08 9:39pm From: bartelby

and no, I don't live there

Fri. 7/4/08 9:40pm From: Matthew

Thanks for a great show and a funny hair cut rant.

This is getting me through a very stressful cartooning freelancing job.

Fri. 7/4/08 9:43pm From: matt

i/m kinnda having problems trying to enhance my hair/s performance of late. the easiest thing might be to just cut yes thanks pseu....

Fri. 7/4/08 9:47pm From: john

Hey, I looked great in bangs. Of course, I was six.

Fri. 7/4/08 9:48pm From: Laurie

I'm hoping the rain will stop so I can set off some illegal fireworks. (YAY, bottlerockets.) Don't play any good music while I'm gone.

Fri. 7/4/08 9:50pm From: matt

ok i guess i can live without the bangs but i dont think i can do without a bit o' ''what ya fancy ''

Fri. 7/4/08 9:51pm From: sugarwolf

Pseu, I'm a girl!

Fri. 7/4/08 10:07pm From: j

Some douche steals Ian Curtis' (of Joy Division) headstone

"Whoever stole it is a total douche, and deserves a special place in hell where screaming emo demons torture them with burns from a thousand clove cigarettes, poke them with a million blunt eyeliner applicators, and blind their eyes with painfully asymmetrical hair extensions for all eternity."

http://www.boingboing.net/2008/07/04/some-douche-steals-i.html

Fri. 7/4/08 10:14pm From: matt

well yeah theres a very thin line between douche and bag...

Fri. 7/4/08 10:15pm From: pseu

oh, whatever. you're dead, you're famous enough where people wanna steal your headstone. what are you gonna do, there's bigger problems.

Fri. 7/4/08 10:18pm From: dave de

Happy 4th Sue!!

Cheers!!

Fri. 7/4/08 10:21pm From: Ike

Damn, I walked down Mt. Prospect Ave. to a vantage point here in the NWK, but too late to see the NYC fireworks.

Hair: Not $3, but men can get $6 cuts on Pell St. in Chinatown. Some of them aren't very good, though. I went back to the $12 guys on St. Marks recently, once they agreed not to use thinning shears. Happy 4th!

Fri. 7/4/08 10:24pm From: dave de

Pseu!!

Fri. 7/4/08 10:29pm From: bartelby

gotta head out to walgreens before it gets too late. Did anyone see Zelda the turkey in Battery Park?

Fri. 7/4/08 10:30pm From: Laurie

I'm lucky if I get a haircut for under $100. And I don't even get my hair "colored."

Fri. 7/4/08 10:34pm From: Laurie

I'm back. No injuries. PSEU!! You played good music while I was gone. :(

Fri. 7/4/08 10:44pm From: john

Hate to admit it, but mine aren't a whole heck of a lot cheaper than Laurie's, but they generally make me happy. So there.

Fri. 7/4/08 10:49pm From: megan

rah pseu, hope you are getting holiday pay this evening, happy 4th!

Fri. 7/4/08 10:50pm From: pseu

hi megan!
I'm inside so missed the fireowrx...saw some reflections of them in b/w on the wfmu hallway spycam tho'...

Fri. 7/4/08 10:51pm From: john

Dagnabit, I really really really hope I remembered to ask for your premium amongst my swag.

Fri. 7/4/08 10:57pm From: bartleby

Actually besides having seen Zelda and Zelda's mate and offspring in the Battery park area, I saw what I am pretty certain was a turkey vulture in Livingston a few weeks back. It made me consider taking up birding but I think that maybe I should try oding-to get over my phobia of dragonflies.
