Good afternoon from way out west (California).
Hey, I bet you would like Cortney Tidwell! Use the 'ol search and use the archives to see what a few of the other FMU's DJ's have played.

You mean Phill Schaap?

That was my reaction took, Lipwak. I was gonna say: "You're actually thinking of one jazz DJ in particular? Was a New Yorker article recently written about him? (That article is HILARIOUS.)"

I kinda like him but that is the reputation he has acquired. But then I don't listen to him very often. (Haven't read the article...)

I don't need to listen to Schaap any more because now WNYE has better local programming from 6 to 9 a.m. (And of course, wfmu.org if I'm near a computer, but I'm often NOT between 6 and 9.) It may not be totally free-form or half as imaginative as FMU but WNYE's morning show wakes me up and puts me on the correct side of the bed. And make sme nostalgic, too. It is MUCH more difficult to wake up to someone expounding upon what Charlie Parker ate for breakfast that morning.

Tony C. played some Grateful Dead about 10 days ago. 1st id heard on this station. It confused me like I t was in 1992 again. Thanks for the Dylan! Hearing the GD on FMU made me realize they were just another cover band, albeit...

WFMU + Headphones = Not listening to other people work. No holiday here in Vancouver but the tunes help. Thanks!

Yes! Tony played GRATEFUL DEAD "New Potato Caboose" Anthem of the Sun on May 21st and i was taken aback. I was 20 in 1992 for thier last runs with Jerry so I came from that mentality. I saw 2 shows but was not a fan of the presentation as a whole. I figured like the Beatles it would be music to fully enjoy later in life. Now its creeping back in from a pleasently unsuspecting source. Cheers!

Just got home & tuned in - what a pleasant surprise. My favorite radio couple. Thanks for the good music. I was gonna refer to you as the Jonathan & Darlene Edwards of FMU, but some folks might not understand what a compliment that is.
