Oh My God!!!
You're playing POLVO!!!
I am instantly transported to UNC-G, 1995 - to a cold walk up Spring Garden street...

Mon. 3/10/08 12:10pm From: Woody

Funny Noel... I went to a certain school in Chapel Hill in the mid-90s so Polvo was a requirement :)

Mon. 3/10/08 12:12pm From: jonathan

i also attended uncg in the early 90's. there was much polvo. that was a very good thing indeed.

Mon. 3/10/08 12:20pm From: noel

I can almost smell the Yum-Yum chili now...
I bought that album (colored vinyl) at Crunchy Music Stuff.
Loved those days...

Mon. 3/10/08 12:23pm From: noel

Cruncy's is long gone; I think it's a bike shop now.

Mon. 3/10/08 12:26pm From: Woody

I think SchoolKids in Chapel HIll just closed or is about to...

Mon. 3/10/08 1:11pm From: noel

I gotta find somewhere around here to get some Charlie Poole stuff.

Mon. 3/10/08 1:20pm From: Archer Midland

Woody, what was the info on that dinosaur recording album again? I'm a fan of things that incorporate field recordings, real or imagined.

Mon. 3/10/08 1:24pm From: Carmichael

OK, this is almost enough to make me ask for my pledge back.

Mon. 3/10/08 1:25pm From: paul in berlin

actually this is great. who is it. is it hall of fame

Mon. 3/10/08 1:26pm From: Woody

The dinosaur recording thing is "Jurassic Soundscapes - A Scientific Interpretation" by Jean-Luc Herelle. Kinda weird...

Mon. 3/10/08 1:29pm From: Carmichael

I'm referring specifically to the Alvin vocals.

Mon. 3/10/08 1:31pm From: Woody

Hi Carmichael, yeah that was Kidorikko... actually took it off Liz's marathon premium from last year, so blame her :)

Mon. 3/10/08 1:33pm From: Donald Rumsfeld

Best song ever on 'FMU

Mon. 3/10/08 1:35pm From: dc pat

nope, this song is. FNU Ronnies RULE!!

Mon. 3/10/08 1:36pm From: Carmichael

Aha! Thanks for narcing her out, Woody ... -)

I was somewhat kidding, as I did say "almost". Monday's almost over.

And Shooby Taylor played the best song ever on WFMU. The one Irwin eventually put on his "Songs in the Key of Z" CD.

Mon. 3/10/08 1:41pm From: Randy in NC

To jump into the conversation late, SchoolKids in CH is closing March 30. Apparently the one over near NCSU is staying open for now.

Mon. 3/10/08 2:03pm From: zigabboo

Stolen from the Meters or might as well be

Mon. 3/10/08 2:24pm From: larry deery

great music, really enjoying your show

Mon. 3/10/08 2:39pm From: Archer Midland

Good stuff. Reminds me a little of some of the douglas quin recordings.
