Listener comments!

  9:23am
girlfriend:

no more politics hatchy please.
  9:23am
Pamela:

Morning! Yay, first comment!
  9:25am
efd:

First Class! Now you're speaking my language! This is a great CD.
  9:36am
dei xhrist:

yay 4th comment. I just found out that the ever lovin' Vermin Supreme is also demanding a recount in NH; this is not the place to post his comments, but basically he knows he got 1 vote and it didn't show up on the final register. Yeah he's a political clown, and with a point.
  9:38am
Hatch:

Apparently some Ron Paul votes in one precint, about 30 of them, were initally not counted either. Not that it would've made much difference.
  9:40am
Reed:

I only recently discovered King Khan, and he really just keeps getting better.
  9:41am
rob t.:

nice "prince" billy track btw - thanks.
  9:48am
Cecile:

Colomen? The wha-?
  9:50am
Ann Arbor Doug:

Since the Michigan Democratic primary has been all screwed up, should I vote for Uncommitted (what the party wants us to do if we don't want to vote for Hillary), Ron Paul (maximum mischief value), or Kucinich (best candidate but doesn't deserve votes because he tried to take his name off the ballot)?
  9:52am
Hatch:

My suggestion, to make the best use of your vote, is to pick Uncommitted. Either that or take a GOP ballot and vote Mitt Romney to help jumble up the Republican contest even further.
  9:53am
dei xhrist:

I was at a poll watch and I was pretty surprised to see Gulianni whup Paul - Paul seemed pretty strong around here, or at least his supporters were crazy with the signs in both quantity and duration. Only getting snippets on this whole MI primary - what about write ins? Do you really have to pay every state to be on their ballot or is it just a con about the early primaries?
  9:54am
Derek:

Democrats for Mitt!
  9:54am
dei x:

Depends on how you define "for"!
  9:55am
Steev:

Clintons will be back in the White House -- I'd lay my bottom dollar on it!
  9:56am
Hatch:

Write-ins don't count in Michigan, and every Democrat but Hillary and Kucinich took their name off the Michigan ballot because the state violated DNC rules by scheduling their primary before South Carolina. So Clinton wins by default--or possibly gets second place to "Uncommitted"--but the delegates don't get to vote at the nominating convention. Theoretically...
  9:59am
Hatch:

And yeah, you have to pay a filing fee and/or get a certain number of signatures from registered voters to get on the ballot. For Democrats in New York, you need 500 signatures in each of the state's 29 Congressional Districts. Clinton and Obama were the only ones who got on the ballot in every district.
  9:59am
Cecile:

Vote for Hilary, and being Michigan delegates, they're born free agents and will vote for whoever the hell they want at the convention. I know, I'm from there - the home of the split ticket.
  10:02am
Lang:

Yes Kevin Ayers!!!!!!!!!!!! Love this song
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
  10:03am
Doug:

I think voting for Mitt would be silly, since he's going to do fine in Michigan without any intervention by the disenfranchised democrats. I'll probably wuss out and vote for Uncommitted.
  10:04am
Derek:

Riddle me this: which primary state's voters have we -not- heard stories of their legendary independence yet? Hmm.
  10:09am
Doug:

Is that Steev Hise up there?
  10:16am
Steev:

This is what my soul feels like while Bush has been in office.
  10:16am
dei x:

Sorry girlfriend, but I think I speak for about 4 other people when I say that I really look forward to Hatch's comment section as one of my few political conversations. Everyone's really nice, and even if we have very dif. views, we're all on the same vibe.
  10:17am
Steev:

Not Hise. Sorry.
  10:19am
lonnie:

i gotta fever and the only cure is more bagpipe
  10:21am
Hatch:

I'm afraid I don't have the cure for your fever.
  10:21am
Cecile:

Or Kenji Haino playing the hurdy-gurdy
  10:22am
Steev:

go eat a haggis -- j/k
  10:24am
dei x:

Now now, we know you put your kilt on one leg at a time
  10:25am
matt:

How about some David Watson or Rufus Harley?
  10:27am
Steev:

I would so totally wear a kilt.
  10:30am
Steev:

It's still snowing here(Albany) -- with very little accumulation, strange.
  10:39am
DC pat:

I know for a fact that DC is known for its legendary independence.
  10:42am
Derek:

John McCain will probably show a strong setting in [state]! With [state]'s legendary independence, their refusal to do what they are told, they will surely identify with straight-talking McCain the maverick!

Being a pundit sure is easy.
  10:46am
lonnie:

here in ohio, we are wholly dependent and not afraid to admit it. more bagpipe. also, can't you see republicans cutting their losses, and letting mccain run in a similar "thanks for all your years on dedication and service" type of bob dole run?
  10:53am
philthy:

McCain, unlike Dole, is not running against a popular incumbent. Don't think the GOP is giving up on the presidential election.
  10:58am
Hatch:

And besides, they wouldn't be cutting their losses wiuth McCain. He's their best shot to win.
  10:59am
Cubicle Carl:

We should all wear kilts when we go vote.
  11:00am
Cecile:

I'm up for it. Except being a girl it loses the shock factor.
  11:02am
dei x:

I got yer Undecided right here in my sporran! (....I had to look that up)
  11:03am
Steev:

Do our kilts have to be plaid?
  11:03am
lydia:

what's this now you're talking over?
  11:03am
Derek:

Since we're listening to King Tubby and talking about politics... any interest in playing Lee Perry's new "The End of the American Dream"? I requested it from Woody yesterday and he played it. Sorry if WFMU listeners are getting sick of me!
  11:05am
north guinea hills:

stained glass pyjamas
  11:05am
Mike B:

I'm going to Cornelius next week also. Could you play some Benevento/Russo Duo, please? They are opening.
  11:06am
Hatch:

The talkover track was "Chelsea Boys" by Marz.
  11:09am
Reed:

Comp name: "Eclectic Choogle-oo"
  11:10am
Drunk John Lennon:

Woo hoo...forty third...hick......comment. Shout out to del X, Sean Daily, Derek, North Guinea Hills, Girlfriend, and all my kilt-wearing mongoloids. And hey Hatchy regarding "needing our help" - we don't ask you to come down to our work and help out with our jobs. Get back to the music, laddie - we luv ya!
  11:10am
Cubicle Carl:

This sounds like Baba O'Riley.
  11:12am
Reed:

DJL: It's called "Internet 2.0." Get with the widget!
  11:14am
Carmichael:

Wow, dig the repetition. So when exactly DOES the "dj speak"???
  11:17am
Cubicle Carl:

Yes...Yes...Sabbath!!!!
  11:17am
Sean Daily:

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!
  11:19am
Brian:

What a perfect time to turn on the radio.

Thanks,
Lord of this World
  11:20am
Cubicle Carl:

I'm going to get cited for headbanging in my cubicle.
  11:21am
ross:

work related injury...
  11:21am
Carmichael:

Now we're talking. Lovely lilting tune.

Ah, aahhaaa, bitter dregs ...
  11:34am
Cecile:

Big Boys! We need the Big Boys!
  11:38am
Nate:

I wanna hear some old Rudimentary Peni, or better yet, Lime Gelatin Refuge. I haven't heard "Cow-Catcher" in two or three forevers. Maybe some early Subhumans.
  11:40am
sasa:

  11:44am
Hatch:

That was "Farewell To The Welfare" by Wendell Harrison.
  11:52am
Wes:

This is some heavy organ on this JK and Co...I like!! If you like this , you'll also like Arzachel's LP from 1969.
  11:53am
Hatch:

That was actually Brigade, not J.K. & Co.
  11:54am
Carmichael:

Or Caravan's "Nine Feet Underground", which seems to twist all over the place.
  11:54am
Wes:

Ahh okay, I see the update now. This Bump has some heavy Hammond, too. So nice.
