Hey, thanks. Good morning!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:11am From: Doug

End your comment with an exclamation mark! Good morning!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:12am From: Parq

From that great modernistic cover of "Everybody's Talking" to a gloriously maudlin Hank Snow in one set -- now that's what I love about FMU.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:13am From: Hatch

That's it! No comments without exclamation points today! No exceptions! Except for that last comment from Parq!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:13am From: lang

For real Hatch you are slaying it today!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:14am From: Matt

I agree! This set has already made my day!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:17am From: Parq

Thanks for the dispensation!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:21am From: Howling Rabbit

Couldn't agree with you more about "I'm Not There". I still don't know what was the point about this film. I did not like anything about this film.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:22am From: lonnie

GO ALL CAPS! PLAY !!! IN HONOR OF THE EXCLAMATION POINTS!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:25am From: !!!CAPSLOCK!!!JCityStyle!!

Inappropriate capitaLization!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:29am From: Barney

el matador rebajada!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:29am From: lonnie

i'd like to see "i'm not there" because i'm curious, but if you want to try and get closer to dylan just read chronicles. the essence of the man is on every page. other than that, i agree with hatch, just listen to the records. for someone who put so much in every song, biographies and interviews betray the artist.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:30am From: lang

Hatch I remember one time Dan H played some Pavement song on the wrong speed at some 'freedom party' and it was like the best thing I had ever heard. Also, I really enjoyed that track at that speed! Sometimes when I play Karp records, it does not matter what speed it is at...it.still.rules. And so do you.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:30am From: Hatch

Darling is a much better film!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:30am From: kwhitehead

Hey Hatch. Just wondering if you are aware that Ed Askew and Josh Burkett are playing a free show on Sunday night, Jan. 6th at Bar in New Haven. Thought your CT. listeners might be interested.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:32am From: Lang

Hatch- are you renting any 'holiday' films? So far all I have on the queue is the mammoth of all holiday films, DIE HARD and of course The Apartment...what about you?

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:32am From: Parq

See, that's another thing I love about FMU - when they play a record at the wrong speed, and you can't tell. Um, I mean, AND YOU CAN'T TELL!!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:33am From: Hatch

I don't do holiday films, except maybe Black Christmas!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:36am From: lang

Hatchy
Come on. NONE? I'm not talking Nat'l Lampoon here... not even any classics?
Black Christmas was amazing btw...Margot Kidder!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:39am From: Hatch

Silent Night, Bloody Night is supposed to be good too!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:43am From: j

black christmas is the best of the holiday fare. i agree.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:44am From: north guinea hills

RIP tonic *sniff* :'(

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:46am From: girlfriend

no more scary movies. you promised we were through in october. hatch tortures me with endless scary movies and political documentaries.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:48am From: Lang

You have to combat with some non overtly holiday kind of films, GF! If you have not seen the Apartment, it is a MUST

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:53am From: Parq

GF, don't get mad, get even. Rent "Edward Scissorhands". Pour gasoline on the fire by weeping copiously at all the most sentimental parts.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:54am From: j

or perhaps Little Murders with alan arkin?

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 9:59am From: Hatch

Deep Red is (sort of) a Christmas movie, too!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:01am From: Lang

Still have not seen little murders! What is Deep Red? Hatch, get a heart warming tale for the little woman, so she can relax and be cheered instead of being um, terrified and alarmed.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:03am From: Lang

HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN SCISSORHANDS!!! Good One Parq!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:03am From: dei xhrist

What about an Alan Arkin retrospective? Not only do you get Little Miss Sunshine, Mars Attacks, The Russians are Coming!x2, but also Last of the Red Hot Lovers! none of which have anything to do with Christmas! I think. And GF, compromise on the horror with Dagon and the Evil Dead trilogy.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:04am From: dei xhrist

... or just get the uber chick flick that is Amelie.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:05am From: Lang

YES!!! LES RALLIZES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:10am From: Hatch

Amelie is not her style, more like Renoir or Tarkovsky. You could say my taste is a bit more low brow!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:11am From: Matt

I'm loving Les Rallizes!!!!! This might be your best show, ever!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:14am From: !!!!

!!!!!!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:14am From: dei xhrist

OK knock Mars Attacks off my list - I mean everyone is in it except Arkin. I'm confusing it with X Men or some other film where he played a president in intergalactic peril.
And I can't watch Amelie without thinking of Delicatessin (cannibals!) or City of Lost Children (just !)

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:16am From: north guinea hills

kudos to gary lambert's remix!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:22am From: bad reccomendations

christmas vacation with Chevy Chase, or any movie with Chevy Chase made before 1989.....

or a good reccomendation = Le Dernier Combat ( no chevy chase)

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:23am From: ?

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:25am From: Lang

Here is one for you Hatch:
Don't Open till Christmas "...t'was the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring...they were all dead!"

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:39am From: Ken

Hatch, what does it mean that this is the second Dee Dee rap track played on FMU in less than a week? This track is really awful and I mean that in a good way! I should've played this track. But Brian Wilson's rap is still worse than this. But not by much.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:41am From: Ken

Sorry I forgot about the exclamation mark! Just catching up on the old comments now! I will never make that mistake again!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:42am From: Hatch

You better not, Ken!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:43am From: Mihai

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:52am From: Mike B

When is Gabe going to release these remixes? The reggae remix "How Long Do I Have To Wait" is out of this world. Long live Sharon Jones!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:52am From: Lang

Hatch LOVES Ghostbusters!!!! Me too

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:52am From: dei x

Is Naked Prey Christmassy? Or should I say, Kwanzaay? I just love any movie that lists the cast as "Man, Man 2, Hunter 1, Old Man 12" etc.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 10:54am From: autumn

Ooooh!! I be dancin!!!! A welcome reprieve from the crazy icestorm outside!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 11:11am From: Laurie

You know, I almost think I prefer the ninety degree weather to your ice storms. Yeah. It would be nice to have snow, once in a while, and not the kind people put up their noses. Craigslist Miami: A disproportionate number of people seeking ski instructors!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 11:14am From: mork

hatch -- you make me love wfmu more than ever with your kick-ass eclecticism

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 11:15am From: autumn

You aint kidding. I hate the cold. I always told my mother that I was made to sit on the beaches of the Mediterrainian, drinking wine and eating spaghetti. None of this frozen stuff. Although, I did snowboard for the first time last year!

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 11:16am From: mork

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 11:18am From: Matt

This Black Mirror comp is great- did you catch Ian Nagoski when he spoke about the '78's? He was really interesting.

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 11:18am From: Wes

"skiing" in Miami is a whole different beast than what we are used to carving up the slopes, eh?

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 11:19am From: dei xhrist

that Black Mirror comp iS definitely on my wish list. oh, and !

Tue Dec. 11, 2007 11:27am From: Wes
