Listener comments!

ahhhhhh Doug no one sings the blues like Bobby Womack. Would love to hear more Oliver Sain especially since i am from St. Louis. Sorry i missed your show last week, i think you were going to have Amy Allison?

Good show today, thank you.

Hi Sky,
Oliver Sain was such an underrated and overlooked figure. Produced so many greats outta St. Louis (not the least of which Fontella Bass). And I surely did have Amy Allison on last week. The show is archived, so you can hear it over and over and over. Go here:

Diggity Doug you are so right about Oliver Sain. The song Night time is such a taunting song. Fontella Bass another great one. Also forgot to tell you i really like the Hermon Hinston song. I will go back into the archives and listen to your show with Amy and thank you.

Hey Diggity what if i answered the math question wrong? :-)

Catch you next week. Love those blues.

Skylar,
I have a particular fondness for Fontella (check the archives of last month's Hoof 'n' Mouth Sinfonia to see what I mean.) I believe it was at a Sain-produced session that a local trumpeter, Lester Bowie, met his future wife, Ms. Bass.

Happy addiing!

Doug
