Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Steve Bledsoe  Never Ending Love For You   Favoriting The Many Sides Of Steve Bledsoe  Superstar  70's?  LP  It was at Mama Bears in rural southwestern Iowa that I stumbled upon this Steve Bledsoe record. I had no idea who he was, but I liked the red and white label (there was no jacket - but it's summer ... who needs jackets?) and it was an album manufactured in Iowa, so I bought it. Now THAT was a convoluted sentence. Anyway. I've been looking on the net here in the Pigeon Coop and it turns out Bledsoe was some kind of roackabilly luminary. Not a whole lot of info out there but that's a good thing or I'd be reading it. Well ... this must have been Steve going through the middle-aged mellowing out process that eventually tames most rockers. Here, he covers Delaney and Bonny in a very straightahead manner. It still has it's charms though if you let it. A simple song done simply.

Well that's it ... another episode in the can, and only ONE MORE to go! This one was probably not as good as the last hometown special. Sometimes I realize things seems interesting to ME, but not everyone is all that into a detailed description of the Memorial Day ceremony at a cemetery in Iowa! Oh well, hope you liked it anyway. Thanks to Gypsy and The Farmer for being willing interview participants! So .... one more show and I am taking a break for awhile. Looking forward to it on one hand, and a bit sad on the other. I feel like painting for awhile, another love of mine. Just not enough time in this life. I would usually tell you to call the Answering Machine, but at this point it doesn't make much sense as I'm sure it will be disconnected when the show ends. You can still e-mail me though .... dusty@wfmu.org I would appreciate hearing from you and knowing what's on your mind or where you heard the show. Thanks a lot to everyone who has e-mailed over the last several months! And to the callers, too ... a big thanks for having the guts to phone in! Guess that's it for now ... one more show to go. I'm gonna miss all of you. Take care and always remember .... Clay
