A British songbird from the dark regions of psych, Sharron has a new album out with Christian Kiefer called "The Black Dove," which upholds the glorious English folk tradition of 'gloom and doom'. Christian can't make the current east coast tour, so Sharron will be playing the remaining shows together with Alec K. Redfearn on accordion and Helena Espvall of Espers on cello. Active for more than 15 years in the Providence, RI, underground arts scene, Alec K. Redfearn has been involved with various local and regional ensembles as a musician, composer, and performance artist, but the Eyesores band is probably his most commercial and accessible undertaking. Helena is the longtime cellist for Espers, who will be releaseing their 2nd full-length disc in May of 2006. They were set to play Pianos in NYC that Monday evening, and on Irene's WFMU show just before it for an afternoon of gorgeous murder ballads and insect incest. |
