This might be where my dad and your Pop start to diverge. Dave Brubeck was as modern jazzy as my dad got. He stuck with the big band/swing sound and then a wee bit of the easy listening scene before he had 3 boys and no more disposable income for records.

Oddly enough, though Pop never got deep into bebop, he was a fan of avant garde stuff, He loved Gil Evans, and the classical composer Charles Ives was a favorite of his. I may have to do a Part Two to this show with all classical stuff.
