Review of the maple creemee milkshake IPA: not bad. I ttook a few sips to get used to, but then it was pretty drinkable. However, I would personally greatly prefer Phaze, a regular IPA by Four Quarters over this. It’s a bit gimmicky.

Wow. Robert Palmer. The most salient experience I had with one of his reviews was when he covered Big Jay McNeely's return to performing at the Roundhouse in London, 1980s or thereabout. Prior to that review, I used to hear McNeely at a tiny bar on the eastern edge of LA Countuy. He was working for USPS, but was obviously poised to kickstart his musical career.

I wrote a paper in law school larded with the word "autoschediasm," c.2003. My professor, whom I adore, advised against using peculiar jargon, so I excised it. Fast forward to 2020 or so, and Tyshawn Sorey produces a work titled, Autoschediasms.

Ethan Iverson suggests that many solos are not very improvised. The soloist comes upon a good solo and then re-uses large portions of it in recordings or future performances. THAT I understand. Of course, some solos can be constructed that way, and others have to be spontaneous, because the musician hasn’t played that song before. Consider many BlueNote recordings from the 50s and 60s.
