Have been curious to hear this. Read that Mary Lou Williams felt ambushed by Taylor. That in preparation Taylor demurred from practicing and told her he would follow her lead. Then in concert she felt he did his thing without communicating with her.

Cherry was thrilling to watch. She had fabulous facial expressions when she played and she usually had her miniature poodle beside her on the bench. Her husband was a cool drummer and they made a unique pair.
