Mr Fab:

Hey Alex!
If I had a show like this, I guess I’d call it “Born At the Right Time,” cuz I was hitting my teen years just as punk was taking off (at least in LA, the NYC &UK scenes had been around for a few years). So no cool stories, I just turned on KROQ w/DJs like Rodney Bingenheimer and there it was, unfolding before my very earballs.
  6:31pm
wenzo:

Cool. I just went to sanctuary for the first time Friday(I think… mighta gone there once like 7-8 years ago when it was paychecks I think?)
Avatar 6:31pm
DJ Alex Kish:

Hey Mr Fab! Happy you made it. I aspire to have the "breaking" power of Rodney Bingenheimer with my solo show Shake Some Action on Weds 7-8pm ET here on Sheena's! :) Im forever grateful you allowed me to join Mr Fab!
  6:32pm
wenzo:

I’ve seen Jeffrey Lewis at Lager House like 3 times. he never does a complete history of the development of punk on the lower east side 1950-1975 sadly
Avatar 6:33pm
DJ Alex Kish:

Ive never seen Jeffrey Lewis before. What show did you go see at Sanctuary?
  6:33pm
wenzo:

My friend’s band.
  6:37pm
wenzo:

Avatar 6:37pm
DJ Alex Kish:

  6:41pm
wenzo:

Bluesy indie prog idk I’m not good at categories
Avatar 6:41pm
DJ Alex Kish:

Ill look em up
  6:44pm
wenzo:

Look up the Bimarks first lol… that’s my cousin’s band. Well… was. That was a while ago. They’re from Portland, my cousin was the singer. My friend in western MA put it “I looked up your cousin’s band, they’re actually a really well respected punk band” lol. I got a kick out of that. They had a MySpace… I wanna say he said there was talk of a reissue/best of but maybe I made that up. They have songs like “Fuck My Generation” and “Throw away the world”
Avatar 6:48pm
DJ Alex Kish:

Ah the myspace days....was way better than facebook/instagram. way more customizable. I'll look them up too!

  7:13pm
wenzo:

Didn’t it get less customizable tho? I remember mine was like lime green and stuff… can you still do all that?
Avatar 7:14pm
wassuprockerradio:

  7:16pm
wenzo:

Avatar 7:17pm

Avatar 7:32pm
Mr Fab:

I thought MySpace shut down? Or at least they got rid of all music.
Avatar 7:34pm
wassuprockerradio:

I havent been to the site in so long. Alright I'm going to it now lol
Avatar 7:38pm
wassuprockerradio:

looks outdated. lots of music stuff. lots of broken links on the main page. how embarrassing
Avatar 7:39pm
Mr Fab:

My beef with Seattle grunge: it wasn’t much fun. Kind of a bummer. Proto-grunge like later Black Flag, The Pixies and Husker Du (at least Grant Hart’s songs) could still deliver some good ol rock n roll fun and weren’t so suicidal. Even Suicidal Tendencies didn’t feel particularly suicidal!
