This Rollins is cool-comes from the between-times, after his "Bridge" period, when he was testing what style he should settle in, trying on the "avant-gard" hat, interesting period. He came out of it with a different tone, elecgtric bass, back in straight ahead playing.

I'm just curious, no biggie, don't think I'm dumping v1 for v2 any time soon anyway. From what I've read, they changed the dac chip, (because the supply of the one they originally used became diffficult), and they opened it up a bit so that you can connect external hard drives more easily (more like a music server/NAS). I haven't seen any comparisons of the sound changes (if any) anywhere.

I liked the gummy soles and heels. I even had some blue suede ones for a while. Not that it had any external significance to me or anything.

I remember a segment from the '70s: what does your daddy do for a living?

"Daddy is a crook, son. He publishes Mad Magazine."

Clark Terry? The Discog entry credits "Sweets" Edison on that track. Terry isn't even on the compilation.

Gerry from Miami:

Saw a recent live concert by "Sweet Judy Blue Eyes" on YouTube. Still sounded great. I bought this "Wildflowers" record on a tape cassette at a gigantic Army PX near Saigon just before returning from the war in 1971. Over the next few years, this album and the "Whales and Nightingales" one were constantly playing on my stereo when I got back to the States. Collins, Mitchell and Baez were my "go-to" folk ladies in those days.
