thanks to the Pointers version of "fire", Springsteen almost had a number 1 hit. he did with "blinded by the light" by manfred mann's earth band. Pointers hit number 2. took Bruce a few more years to get that high on the Billboard charts with "dancing in the dark". he should be thankful to both artists for helping to pay some bills.
