I've mentioned this before in woofmooland. Summer '69 or '70 we lived in north Jersey. Myself Artie had just puffed, turned on the radio. I forget if it was WBAI or WFMU. We could pick up both. (WBAI had more music then, had actually pioneered "underground radio.") The point is, it was one of NYC/NJ's great freeform stations. Everything is Everything's version of "Witchi" came on. We were stunned in a most charming way. We quickly called the DJ to ask about the song. He laughed, said about 20 people had just called in asking the same! He then played it over and over about 15 times. Freeform! Thanks for listening.
