We were sitting of the filthy floor when Sparky, one of The GTO's came over at tried to get Kid to dance. He was ignoring her. She started yanking at the arm - begging, pleading. Brian(Kid's real name) was determined. Sparky marched off in a huff. I asked Brian to explain " I rode my bike to the Baldwin Park Civic to see Geronimo Black and Ruben and the Jets last week. I danced all night long with Sparky." Brian was fourteen years old at the time.
