Hopefully get through round 2 without catching it (odds not great, though; to make matters worse, we were at a wedding this past Sunday, at least 1 other family member, with whom I spent a good amount of unmasked time, tested positive. I am still astonished that my recently-gone Mom did NOT get it despite having Stage IV pancreatic and liver cancer. I still mask most public places, except when I have to eat/drink, which is kinda messy with a mask on. Hardly anyone still masks, though. (Love this Tuulikki, btw). Doing my best to avoid sick daughter in the house, mask when necessary.
So far, afik, haven't had COVID (I had a positive rapid test early in the Pandemic, but did 2 PCR's to confirm, and both were negative. Seems there were false positives then, now from what I hear false negatives are more the issue).
  12:29pm
rw:

Oh, and one more thing about Covid... the worst thing for me was spreading it to a couple close friends. That I feel terrible about, even though they got relatively mild cases too.
  12:30pm
Phillip:

When the original Covid-19 was raging I went out and put my hands in peoples trash to get nickel cans. I was wholly surprised when I didn’t catch it. But on new years ever 2021 still wearing a mask and gloves and social distancing I came down with omicron.
Avatar 🛎 Swag For Life Member 12:32pm
doctorjazz:

It's not a terrible thing to catch a mild case of it, likely builds up a decent immunity (but it wanes in a few months, and a few viral mutations). The problem is that you can't select the mild case-if you're unlucky, the severe version hits. If you're very unlucky, you get stuck with Long COVID.

My one complaint about the premium downloads is that certain DJs did not make their files easily importable. Many of the tracks are just the song title or the artist and song title mashed together in the song title. The actual music, however, is top notch.

Speaking of metadata, this premium show was actually going to happen at the end of the month, but my music hard drive crashed last night. All the music files are still there, but all the metadata is gone. I am beyond sad, but I have a backup from July that I can copy the metadata so all is not lost. Just the metadata from August, September, and this month. :-\ Rather than have a full-blown nervous breakdown, I decided the easiest solution is to download all the DJ premiums last night and pull a show together from that music.

@docjazz: In my experience, all depends on if the Piper can *really* play the things or not - but ymmv. Can't think of an instrument I don't like in & of itself...

Heh. Well put, adam.

What would go good with that song would be that's song from lo fidelity all stars "battleflag"

Something odd about a self-released Greatest Hits album (I do like this Love Canon version, though, always a sucker for bluegrass and reggae covers of rock/pop tunes).

Well - 3oak *is* kind of the dissection lab of Songcraft.

I like these 8-bit tunes-have an 8 bit Beatles collection, fun!
Avatar 2:28pm

a.) White Batmobile is a brilliant name.
b.) Better reason for 8-bit music to exist here than I generally believe.

Professor Elemental ought to do a cover.
Avatar 🛎 Swag For Life Member 2:38pm
adamdoesit:

I was struck by Shatner's remarks on going into space for real. He found it depressing. He looked down, and realized all the life is down here; up there, nothing but… nothing. "My trip to space was supposed to be a celebration; instead, it felt like a funeral."
Avatar 🛎 Swag For Life Member 2:39pm
doctorjazz:

I was just about to say what RRN63 said @ 2:38, I think that "Common People" cover is great!

  2:39pm
Mark R:

It's a tune called "I'm Your Dog," Mary. Adam I heard about Shatner's space experience, too. Ironic, yes?
Avatar 🛎 Swag For Life Member 2:40pm
Phillippe:

agreed, RR, he nailed that one. "That's Me Trying" w/ Amee Mann and "I Can't Get Behind That" with Henry Rollins on the same album were great as well
Avatar 🛎 Swag For Life Member 2:41pm
Phillippe:

I read that too, adam. a rude awakening when you're 90
  2:41pm
Mark R:

Ah correction, it's called "I'm NOT Your Dog"!
Avatar 🛎 Swag For Life Member 2:43pm
Handy Haversack:

I think I love Pulp's original too much to really get that into the Shatner version.
Avatar 2:45pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Have to think Professor Elemental much influenced by the Dolby.
Avatar 2:46pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Handy ...hard call. Jarvis not joking - but Shat brings the Acting skills to actually get it across. Jarvis wrote it anyway.
