Of course there is the false War on Drugs. & of course the first victim of War is the Truth.
The only sane & effectual policy is Harm Reduction. Which means make it a Medical situation not a Legal one. It's already a Legal one - & it's never - ever - helped. It's not actually intended to - & that's where Politics enters...

I've feared it.
It always felt like somehow when his music was playing, it was sapping my lifeforce.
Of course, that made me perpetually curious about what it was about ND performances which made me feel that way – because the aural textures of his sounds seem like they're right in a range that I like.
The best guess I've come up with is that it's something about the rhythm, the timing – that something about his relationship with the nominal beat of a song makes it feel like my energy is being drained. Or maybe it's just because aspects of his life were so fucking sad and I'm just feeling it!
But anyways... odd, huh?

And sorry, I didn't even see your reference to fearing ND in the comment right above mine until I re-read it more carefully just now! I think we were both typing at the same time.
And my attempt at trying to find a technical thing I'm responding to – it's all a guess, and probably an exercise I'm drawn to just because I'm a person who wants to find a technical explanation for things. That doesn't always work, of course.
And my guess about rhythms could be off, and maybe I'm responding to other aspects of the delivery – the laconic flattening of tones feeling like it's corresponding with a flattening of affect, for instance.
Anyway. Nick Drake resides in my personal uncanny valley.
