I wish I could go to Record safari today! Even if I did have a valid ID for public transportation, I probably couldn't justify the travel expense though.

Hi Kittimu
  3:05pm
kittimu:

I'm out of town and forgot my headphones so I can't listen but I hope you're all pleased to hear that I recommended the show to one of my friends and he's been listening to the archives
Avatar 3:06pm
Mr Fab:

Not familiar with that store, but looking em up now. Looks like a cool spot (like I need more records in my life?!?)
Avatar 3:07pm
Debbie Davenport:

I know what you mean Mr. Fab. I have around 6,000 records. But I saw Noah's "story" with he and Don flipping through records. I want to get more!!!
Avatar 3:07pm
JukeboxFix:

Hello people! Hope everyone has an awesome Saturday!
Avatar 3:08pm
Mr Fab:

Thanks kittimu, word-of-mouth is crucial to stations like WFMU with very minimal ad budgets.

Hi, everybody!

Cheree July:

Hi Becky!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Feldy, Deb, Cheree, MHLee, Mr Fab, JukeboxFix, Kittimu, and of course, the lovely & talented Kitten Sparkles!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Hi, Cheree! I guess they don’t ask for ID’s there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Is this Greta Van Fleet? Joking of course
  3:41pm
Cheree July:

They don't ask for ID's where Becky?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

At the Ricky Wilde Disco!
Avatar 3:41pm
Debbie Davenport:

Hi Becky!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Debbie! I saw you on FB this week in an odd conversation. It was about glitter rock but then I saw the name Joc Petersen in there! I only know that name because he used to be on the Dodgers. My nickname for him is Babyman.
  3:45pm
Cheree July:

Ah, Becky. Also, School's Back was Philadelphia, not Greta Van Fleet.
Avatar 3:45pm
Debbie Davenport:

Oh yeah! That might of been on INstagram. I'm finally using my account there. (I opened it like 10 years ago or something). Or maybe it was fb. It was on a Noah post for one of his old bands.
Avatar 3:45pm
Debbie Davenport:

Yeah I will always think of him as the jock in a pearl necklace.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

I saw a GVF post this a.m. and the cult of admirers were going on about “how that kid sounds so much like Robert Plant.” The others were comparing his voice to Adam Sandler.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Domenic heard it, looked over and said. “Turn that racket off!” He didn’t know what it was.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Wow, I forgot this was a goo dish song. It just isn’t bubblegum.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

I [heart] rhyming titles!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Cockney Rhyming Titles. I’m here on my break—have to go back to editing in a bit. Thanks for putting up with me ; )
Avatar 3:57pm
Debbie Davenport:

Me and Gordon had a good time with some rhyming lyrics last night. The Spats She Done Moved. They rhymed moved with food in the chorus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Close enuf! My least favorite is baby/don’t mean maybe.
Avatar 3:59pm
Debbie Davenport:

I'm enjoying this Geordie song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Yes, me, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

What do we think a Steamroller Lady is?
Avatar 4:01pm
Mr Fab:

Hey Becky! Yes, not only do we need more words that rhyme with "baby", we need a LOT more words that rhyme with "love."
I don't know who's in charge of such things, but they better get to work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Hey, Fab! “Don’t mean maybe was clever exactly once, if that. I’ve got my thesaurus and and am ready to start coming up with alternatives.
Avatar 4:04pm
Mr Fab:

Ah, I see "Mama Was a Steamroller Lady." The female answer to "Papa Was A Rolling Stone"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Oh, ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

This sounds like a Mike Chapman song
  4:08pm
Cheree July:

Mr. Fab, Don accidently played the wrong side of the J.C. Livingstone song because he couldn't see the A side.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Alligator Fix songwriter is Curtis. He must be a big MC fan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Is this the same Rattles from the 1960s?
Avatar 4:12pm
Mr Fab:

Cheree July: no prob. His eyesight may be weakening, but he's still got his ears on.
Avatar 4:13pm
Mr Fab:

Becky, the '60s Rattles didn't have a female singer, but who knows, I suppose they could have added her later on.
  4:15pm
Cheree July:

Thanks, Mr. Fab. He doesn't have his lamp near his MiniDisc player anymore.
Avatar 4:24pm
Mr Fab:

Gotta love someone who would dress like that and then proclaim themselves to be my hero!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Or a grandma!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Bill: That’s quite a presumption!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Oh there’s “Curtis” again. I guess I better read up on him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

I guess he writes BCR songs too
Avatar 4:32pm
Debbie Davenport:

I love how you notice those kind of things Becky.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

I didn’t use to! It comes from hanging out with Asperger-type record collectors who can quote labels and catalog numbers and such. I figured I better learn more than, “This is a good record.”
Avatar 4:36pm
HyperDose:

Oh my!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

I would also say since I don’t have a ton of money for records it helps me access cheaper records before others find them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Hi, HD!
Avatar 4:37pm
Mr Fab:

Ha, that was why for the longest time i never called myself a record collector. I never cared about all that stuff. I used to say "record accumulator."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Otaku. I think collector is OK if you don’t spell it with a capitol C.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Because that implies snobiness, and the speaker should be aware that everyone else sees that is a dork identifier.
Avatar 4:40pm
Mr Fab:

this song answers the musical question "What if AC/DC had a horn section"?
  4:41pm
Cheree July:

Well, Becky, I have Aspergers. That's why I'm so good at assisting Don with Wired Up.
Avatar 4:42pm
Debbie Davenport:

The more I like a record the more I space out while listening to it. It takes a lot of listens for me to absorb all the facts. If I ever do. I had some weird child abuse associated with some bands and record collecting in general. Doctors tell me I'm lucky to be sane and need to just enjoy it! It's one of the reasons I'm pro note taking for djs. I had to do that incase I got in that odd trance state. haha.
Glad you see the snob shit associated with it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Really, Cheree?! I hope it didn’t sound like I was poking fun. I think a lot of us are on the spectrum. I have OCD at least. It calms me to flip through records. I don’t like any other kind of shopping.
Avatar 4:43pm
Debbie Davenport:

pro note taking if they need it. I just don't like other collectors shaming people for it. One never knows why they do things differently
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

I’m sorry to hear that, Deb.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

I dotons of screen grabs so I can research more later.
Avatar 4:44pm
Debbie Davenport:

Thanks. I have a good time in life.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Yay, Cheree!
Avatar 4:46pm
HyperDose:

Hey Becky and groovers. What a flipping fantastic show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Cheree, this is the first show where I’ve realized you were actually at the studio. I thought you were entering the songs “on location” from somewhere else.
  4:47pm
Cheree July:

Yes, Becky, I'm in the studio. I'm usually in the studio assisting Don. Thanks for your understanding.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Deb, snobbery May bea partial reason I had the audacity to think I could spin children’s music in nightclubs. I really don’t think about things that hard, but at the time all my friends were playing SERIOUS music and I while I liked there stuff, I felt I could justify this thing I liked and everyone else hated.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Nice grammar/typing there, but hopefully the msg got through.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

We appreciate it, Cheree! Don is the greatest!
Avatar 4:51pm
Debbie Davenport:

Nice! I've never dj'd in nightclubs before but I can appreciate that!
Avatar 4:52pm
Debbie Davenport:

Yes, Cheree is awesome. Makes the show tighter and Don seems more relaxed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Have you done a Drop In, Deb? On R&S? It’s one-hour guest show.
Avatar 4:52pm
Debbie Davenport:

No, never heard of that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Anyone with a Point of View can DJ in my opinion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Oh, check it out in the archives. Every Saturday at 6 a DJ or a guest does a special on some type of music that is not their specialty.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

We can invite people/sponsor them.
Avatar 4:55pm
Debbie Davenport:

I was invited to be involved with a new Radio station here connected to the Oregon Country Fair, but I don't think it's a good fit. Not for me or them. I'm burnt out on people in most scenes. I'll probably get into it again. Radio is great because it's like being in a big group but you are still alone! Yeah I'll check that out. Thanks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Let me know. I can help you if you wanna try. It’s good to have a specific theme.
  4:56pm
Cheree July:

Thank you kindly Debbie.😊
Avatar 4:57pm
Debbie Davenport:

Thanks Becky! You're welcome Cheree!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

About the reindeer?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Well, I better get back to MY show. Thank you DON BOLLES and CHEREE for the tunes and nice hanging with you Deb, Mr. Fab, and HD!
Avatar 4:59pm
Mr Fab:

Moocho thx Don n Cheree!
Avatar 5:00pm
Debbie Davenport:

Wow! The show is already over. Have a great time djing at Record Safari Don!
