Dave Stryker has a gig coming, I believe at The Falcon (I like that club, bit of a drive, though).
As long as I'm doing "Gig Alerts", Joel Forrester Quartet in Tarrytown, NY this Friday (free outdoor), and will be solo in Manhattan, Bryant Park.

WR:

Last night John P on the Sheena stream played a new to me track with Jack Kerouac, words/vocal, and Steve Allen, piano, called "Charlie Parker". As a kid that really liked his TV program (when I got to see it) I had no idea of all that he was doing.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:18pm
Funky16Corners:

The lead instrument on most of these Phil Moore tracks is the melodica, run through various and sundry electronic effects
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:19pm
Funky16Corners:

@WR - I think there's a whole LP of Kerouac/Allen collabs from his TV show. Allen was a very funny guy, and his show was influential comedy-wise

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm
Little Danny:

love the brief-lived '60s vogue for surf-adventure film/documentary
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:49pm
Funky16Corners:

I was watching Endless Summer with my sons last week. Some of it didn't age well (race stuff) but the surfing footage is amazing. It grew out of small, local showings of surf footage in SoCal. I think it was the first feature-length with narration
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm
Little Danny:

totally, and totally - such a gorgeous soundtrack too
