First I heard of Lalo Schifrin was a radio program in 1988 called 'Spinning on Air' The DJ was playing only film sound tracks, great introduction to the man, HBD L.S. !

Wonder if Lalo Schifrin ever crossed paths with Martha Argerich? She is about 9 years younger & also from Argentina.

Uh Oh! This one is somewhat topical currently.

Lalo did the music for George Lucas’s first feature THX 1138, and it’s a really beautiful and effective score, it really completes the movie as effectively as Johnny Williams’ score famously does for Star Wars.

dropping in on your chat board just to say hello good and lovely wfmuers,. went outside for a walk earlier, taking a break from the difficult process of inhabiting a new apartment, and realized what date it was today. immediately had a thought for the station, and a smile went up on my face (then when I got back, surprisingly, the internet was working . did not think I was going to be able to actually say hi today. really glad to find you back :) )

Ken From Hyde Park:

He walked up to me and he asked me to dance.
I asked him his name and in a dark brown voice he said Lalo. L-A-L-O, Lalo.

I had a feeling Robert Vaughn would somehow be involved in the festivities. For a moment earlier on, I almost thought it was him gracing the cover of "El Jefe".

Way Way Out is worth a watch for those who haven’t. It’s a space-race era sex comedy, intentionally more “adult” than anything Lewis had done. Great cast and loaded with 60’s atmosphere. It may still be on YouTube.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:02pm

every time brian keith tries to call up the space staion video he gets a western film and he says ' there goes that damn indian off his horse again.'
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 9:03pm

...wait, Natalie Wood was also Russian and falls for NASA man Connery, I think Karl Malden was the NASA head
  9:05pm

@P-90 - Funny enough, there was a movie with a similar theme that came out in '69 called "Moon Zero-Two". It was featured as Episode 0110 of MST3K.
