Clark, no pea-souper fogs in London for 60 odd years now. My dad told me about one in late 40s - he was on a bus home and it had to stop at Manor House because it was a total white out. He got off the bus and said you could literally not see your hand in front of your face. Luckily there was a blind man on the bus, too, and he led my dad home.
