When I was in middle school there was a popular song that sampled Apache... no idea what it was called
Avatar 2:35pm
Mr Fab:

MHLee: "Apache" by Grandmaster Flash? The Incredible Bongo Band's version got sampled a LOT.
Avatar 2:38pm
Rubberband Girl:

High drama coming up soon...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm
MHLee:

Definitely the IBB sample, but no idea which version... would have been around 2008
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm
MHLee:

@Rich I actually had the site open for a completely different reason and didn't even think about it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm
Rich in Washington:

I've done late night and overnight radio. Crazy and drunk people call but it drops off precipitously after 1am or so.
Avatar 2:47pm
Mr Fab:

I'm a long-time caller, but I grew up in the pre-text/email era. It was fun, got to be friends with some of the DJs I'd pester.
Avatar 2:47pm

I recognize that meow!!!! Oh my I love this Mystic Moods album !!
Avatar 2:49pm
Rubberband Girl:

I love this song period, and all the early Bee Gee's stuff. Trying to work it into my "classic rock" station more without getting fired.
Avatar 2:50pm
Rubberband Girl:

It's more than classic rock, tho – we play a lot of folk, pop and soul, so it does work... Dylan, Cat Stevens, etc. More like "classics" in general.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm
Rich in Washington:

My town's classic rock station is what ultimately dragged me into listening to radio late at night and eventually drifting left of the dial to our local community radio and all the wonderful and crazy stuff the DJs would play there. But during the mid/late 70s, our classic rock DJs would be fairly adventurous late at night - playing whole sides or even albums but Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, ELP, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm
Feldy:

Cheers to getting paid!
