	4:14pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63: Stu Sutcliffe's sister noted he is often called a Fifth Beatle - when he was in fact the Fourth! & Harrison gave credit for the word/name 'Beatles' 50/50 Lennon/Sutcliffe. Pete Best was fully a Beatle for two years in a critical formative stage - when there were in fact Five. George Martin signed them - assuring their careers - & arranged (almost another Writer) & produced THOSE RECORDS. Overall - Martin's the Fifth Beatle in my book. They were a tight circle - & Manager Brian Epstein was nearest being the Fifth in that sense - & Paul said as much. 'One of us.' Billy Preston was pretty much in the band musically in January 1969 for the Get Back / Let It Be sessions here - a Fifth Beatle then anyway...

That tonight in 2021 Peter Jackson's 'Get Back' docu-series premieres - presenting in many respects as much actually unfamiliar & 'new' Beatles material as we've ever had since they broke up (well - the Live @ BBC & Anthology stuff are contenders) - is then for me a remarkable full circle of a kind - & yet more affirmation of & testament to how extraordinary & relevant & enduring TheBeatles will, apparently, always be.

They made up for that a thousandfold with Abbey Road a little later. Maybe an unpopular opinion but that is how I see it.

'69) The sound is uneven - but I like the more verite quality of it too. Giles did say that was an objective to make it all sound like One Album Together. Yerknow - all we have is seven years & 13-ish (actually short) albums. I'm pretty forgiving of each album's idiosyncrasies. Flaw or Feature with Masters always debatable...

Pete Best was fully a Beatle for two years in a critical formative stage - when there were in fact Five. George Martin signed them - assuring their careers - & arranged (almost another Writer) & produced THOSE RECORDS. Overall - Martin's the Fifth Beatle in my book. They were a tight circle - & Manager Brian Epstein was nearest being the Fifth in that sense - & Paul said as much. 'One of us.' Billy Preston was pretty much in the band musically in January 1969 for the Get Back / Let It Be sessions here - a Fifth Beatle then anyway...

(& the ripe Red Apple label, btw.) I think as a B-Day present - presuming from the $1.99 cut-out bin (tho' from this remove seeming not that many years after it was issued in fact !...) That tonight in 2021 Peter Jackson's 'Get Back' docu-series premieres - presenting in many respects as much actually unfamiliar & 'new' Beatles material as we've ever had since they broke up (well - the Live @ BBC & Anthology stuff are contenders) - is then for me a remarkable full circle of a kind - & yet more affirmation of & testament to how extraordinary & relevant & enduring TheBeatles will, apparently, always be.

'69) The sound is uneven - but I like the more verite quality of it too. Giles did say that was an objective to make it all sound like One Album Together. Yerknow - all we have is seven years & 13-ish (actually short) albums. I'm pretty forgiving of each album's idiosyncrasies. Flaw or Feature with Masters always debatable...
