I love how Mexicans have embraced the whole Morrissey/rockabilly deal. I saw him at the Hollywood Bowl and the audience was amazing - all of these Latinx kids in leather and poodle skirts, tatoos up and down. It's a real conundrum.

slugluv: Yeah, saw Dune on HBO last night, was pretty cool, I thought. Tomorrow before the Furs I'm going to try to catch some of the Krewe of Boo, the Halloween parade that's like a mini-Mardi Gras. It'll be the first parade since early 2020.

Been reflecting lately on how impressive a career Siouxsie and the Banshees had. Nice to have a refresher. I get the impression that she works hard at her music. Saw them once, around '82-3. I was a bit in awe. I was well read on the GB punks, bought the Caroline Coon book early on. That was a mind blower.

Made the first round of photos tonight in what's now a fifteen-year tradition of pumpkin carving with friends and then lights-out, candles-lit photos. I think it's my favorite thing of the entire year. Carved, lit pumpkins are just stupidly photogenic. Even I can't fuck it up.
