Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from September 10, 2021 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

I happen to like being Informed - so Schaap on about Bird happened to be soothing to me. I didn't worry much about a quiz later. Well - I've said this :
Always parodied & remarked upon for his loquacious, even recursive & definitely lecture-like style of on-air discourse of minutia & points of contention in the details of Jazz History (especially those pertaining to Charlie Parker)
- he was almost always beloved too by all these same people.
Losing Phil Schaap is a loss in Cultural Entertainment & Broadcasting
- but also like losing the best & greatest Library of Jazz Knowledge there can ever be.
He gave us a lot.
