	♥ 12:07pm Threemoons: I need this upbeat music today. Super sleepy today; AC barely cut it last night and I ate dinner too late. Also, I was out of cheese and onions in the house which never happens, and I made the mistake of popping over to my Trade Fair while hungry. Well, deli-counter "buffalo chicken chunks" happened. When I got home I nuked them and had the whole little tray...each one was some odd, almost marshmellowy-fluffy concoction of who knows what part of the chicken and meat glue. It was oddly satisfying. Then I had a nip of Delta 8 syrup and an hour later I attacked some cold cuts. Result: Too much food before bed and my tongue STILL feels fuzzy from the syrup. Took a super minimal amount also; gotta remember to cut it with seltzer or something. Trying to switch from Tylenol PM and similar to that; less bad for your liver for sure but must time it with meals better. And yeah the Trade Fair chicken chunk thingies are oddly delicious in a horrifying way. I mean, I have had proper chicken meatballs. This was not that. This was the equivalent of the cheapest deli chicken loaf, REGROUND with MORE fillers and air and plopped out of an extractor and baked and then rolled in batter and fried. It's without a doubt the least healthy thing I've had to eat in the last 20 years.

UV-TV formed in Gainesville, Florida, in the mid-2010s, but by the turn of the decade they’d relocated to New York City. Their first release after moving to NYC, 2021’s Always Something, was one of EFD’s favorites of that year; they’ll play some songs from that album as well as some new songs from an upcoming release. Tune in for some post-punk jangle-drone!
Wed. May 22nd, Noon - 3pm: The Prof. Fuzz 63 (More info...)
The Prof. Fuzz 63 are a three-piece family band from just north of Dallas. They’re also literally a garage band. Their garage/practice space is adorned with photos of The Cramps, among others, and singer uses an old telephone handset for a mic. What else do you need to know? OK, they’re also playing May 22 at Berlin in NYC and May 23 at Finnegan’s in Hoboken.

I'll admit it: in 1976 or '77, in thrall to punk rock, I sauntered into the Harvard Coop, a big department store in Harvard Square, made my way to the customized t-shirt department, and picked out a blank gold-colored shirt. I then selected the black block letters that I wanted to be heat-transferred onto that shirt:
D-I-S-C-O S-U-C-K-S.
Ultimately the shirt didn't get much use, though that was more because my Mom didn't care for the language.

Fast forward a few years and I'm in New York City in the summertime, between semesters at NYU. I still love punk and its offshoots, but listening to Ken "Spider" Webb and Ricky Ricardo and, of course the Chief Rocker Frankie Crocker on WBLS has made me realize the folly of that t-shirt. Fast forward some more and now every summer I start itching to play my favorite records from that era (give or take a few years) -- favorites I loved back then, and new favorites that I never heard back in the day.

In that spirit, I'm excited to bring you the 13th annual Evan "Funk" Davies Show Disco/Dance Party! It's three hours of classic dance and disco jams from the '70s and early '80s, plus some lost shoulda-been-hits that just might become your new faves. Hook up the disco ball, pull your rug back and turn up the volume. Everybody's dancin', everybody's on the beat, and there ain’t no stoppin' us now!

Disco/dance disclaimer! I'm keeping the lines blurry and using "disco" and "dance" as catch-all terms for my own take on fun dance music from the mid-70s to the early '80s, expanding the boundaries (and sound) of the traditional disco era. Don't @ me!

	♥ 12:07pm Threemoons: I need this upbeat music today. Super sleepy today; AC barely cut it last night and I ate dinner too late. Also, I was out of cheese and onions in the house which never happens, and I made the mistake of popping over to my Trade Fair while hungry. Well, deli-counter "buffalo chicken chunks" happened. When I got home I nuked them and had the whole little tray...each one was some odd, almost marshmellowy-fluffy concoction of who knows what part of the chicken and meat glue. It was oddly satisfying. Then I had a nip of Delta 8 syrup and an hour later I attacked some cold cuts. Result: Too much food before bed and my tongue STILL feels fuzzy from the syrup. Took a super minimal amount also; gotta remember to cut it with seltzer or something. Trying to switch from Tylenol PM and similar to that; less bad for your liver for sure but must time it with meals better. And yeah the Trade Fair chicken chunk thingies are oddly delicious in a horrifying way. I mean, I have had proper chicken meatballs. This was not that. This was the equivalent of the cheapest deli chicken loaf, REGROUND with MORE fillers and air and plopped out of an extractor and baked and then rolled in batter and fried. It's without a doubt the least healthy thing I've had to eat in the last 20 years.
