Speaking of Edwin, the next song is for him. ESOTERIC - a form of doom that mixes sadness with fright
Bconrad, you might love Goatess as well. It is hard not to be drawn into that style of doom.

On the app, click on the note symbol on the upper left. Look for Archives & Podcasts or Recent Archives. Pick a show. Once it starts playing, click the diskette icon in the upper right and it adds it to your list of saved shows.

  5:41am
OSS:

what do you usually enjoy BigPOppa?
Avatar 5:42am
BigP0ppa:

I guess my gateway to serious listening in was Guitar rck for want of a better description. Post rock, post punk as very generic term
Avatar 5:43am

But then electronica, noise, pop outside the norm

Avatar 5:45am
BigP0ppa:

Cheers all, I'll be raising a glass of something to you Bill in 15 mins
  5:45am
Sally:

I'll always return to the archives as I probably too often do. I hope one day I can tell you how much the music means to me. My gateway to lost worlds will never be lost. Live shows just make them seem closer, I suppose.
Avatar 5:46am
BigP0ppa:

There is merit in every genre I've found. A lot of shit, but always some gold. I heard a Cathedral record in the early 90s and was like, Woah, WHATS THIS
Avatar 5:46am
BigP0ppa:

WFMU tends to hit on the gold and none of the cack
  5:46am

was that Forest of Equilibrium?
Avatar 5:47am
BigP0ppa:

The Cathedral record? No idea at all. I'd recognise the cover. Hang on
Avatar 5:48am
Bconrad138:

It’s a sad thing this being the last show, but thanks Bill! I’ve got turned on to some killer stuff and I know the vaults have hidden gems. Glad to be here the full lineup tonight and we still have your movies and other projects!

  5:50am
OSS:

oh ok cool record, but very different to Forest...
  5:52am
OSS:

cool Bconrad138, it is certainly not for everyone, but once you get into it, it is a great experience, I still listen to those classic records often and there's so much to explore and discover!
Avatar 5:53am

OSS:

I hadn't notice the Blondie track! hahaha I like Rapture a lot, it is such a moody song!
Avatar 5:56am
Bconrad138:

I’m curious to who’s a fan of Bill outside the radio show? I feel like I’m barely getting to know some of you and now we part ways.
  5:58am
Sally:

I base time on distance between radio shows. I wake up on Wednesdays thinking about the music to come many hours later. I take naps to ensure I stay awake. This is religion. I feel like the final minutes are slipping way to fast!
Avatar 5:58am
BigP0ppa:

OSS. It was the only Cathedral Id knowingly listened to for years. There was a guy in my town a couple of years older who had vinyl records. No else did. I saw the cover and asked about it. he was playing Fugazi one day and well .... that was a gateway into stuff that wasnt Nirvana or Smashing Pumpkins. Every small town seems to have someone thats just really really switched on and cool.
  5:58am
weiterso:

The last one - I hope your journey still goes on. All the best!

I return to playlists of past
Meeting the darkness that shall last
If only you could know
Such a painful fondness for your show
Still I revisit the burning dark
Yearning for the embers to spark
Ongoing flames into each night
